I am realistic about the price no matter how beautiful the car is.

I'd like to know if anyone is interested in this car here. (I actually hate to part with her as she's had a lot of love and care all around but I'm looking now at an E63)

It's in near perfect condition.

This diesel engine is very strong and runs almost completely smoke free even when STOMPED ON. (Unlike some I've seen that look like James Bond just dumped the smokescreen in a get away)

I had the turbo rebuilt and veins clipped by Majestic to spool sooner so she runs beautifully strong and gets great mileage and I took the entire intake down to the head out at that time and cleaned all oil and soot out that naturally develops in diesels ... cleaned to like new.

Has less than 170,000 miles on her , but the engine block was replaced with a new one at around 75,000 by Mercedes due to the dread block defect some of those had which is completely gone now and no sign of any developing.

I've had the BOSE power amp rebuilt (and improved stereo sounds great) added CD Changer in trunk. Has a new climate control unit. New Bosch air pump for the trunk and door closers, new computer control put in (The one located under the passenger seat that controls seat and window functions) has new blower control and blower. New brake rotors and sensors. Had the front and rear bumper re painted ... (There's many other things I've done I can't recall right now.)

Has been run on Delvac1 for the last 50,000 miles.

Not a speck of rust. Garage kept. Never driven in snow and salt. (When I work on it ... it's like working on a new(er) car very clean)

I also upgraded the rims to the Mercedes 1997 5 spoke SClass rims.

Smoke silver and Muscle Gray ... no body damages or door dings.

Needs very little. Looks like you're driving a near new car.

Pics to come if anyone is interested here.

Car is located in my garage in Wisconsin.

I noticed in another thread the guy getting some flack for not having records.

I have almost all records and parts purchases ... sorry, no records for the work I've done myself. Just parts receipts.

The car speaks for itself with one drive. And the records I do have is at least an inch or two thick.

A good friend of mine who's a long time Mercedes diesel head is amazed how strong and smoke free she runs. You will be too.

I'll post some pics within the hour.

Also this car was optioned with every option Mercedes offered at the time. My local dealer told me the car is quite rare in this form.

As for what doesn't work ... I can point out everything ... and even have some parts ready.

There is a hand painted double pin stripe , very subtly done by "Beck Lines" that matches the lower "Muscle Gray" panels.

And as you can see I have the newer Mercedes SClass rims installed which are IMO very tasteful and absolutely perfect condition.

I'll have to take some interior pictures ... she's covered right now for winter storage. Interior is almost like new ... floor mats have never been used. Brand new in trunk as I've always used the deep rubber ones.

Has a brand new Zebrano shift knob I installed too.

Heated rear seats too that are absolutely perfect.

Only the drivers seat shows some wear.

No doubt it would be a hell of a deal. I really have a hard time wrapping my head around what they're supposedly worth as it craps on new cars.

Car is a beast and the engine is just broken in and gets surprisingly GREAT mileage and as my diesel head buddy says ... it pulls like a V8. Gets much better 0-60 than the factory estimate and passes with surprising Aplomb. Amazing what the new block and modified turbo are capable of. I've never officially timed it, but the 0-60 seat of pants count is around 8 seconds which is seriously not bad for a diesel car of this massive weight.

Built like a tank. Triple thick side window glass. Soft closing doors and trunk. Rear window sunshade. Rear heated seats. Traction control. 11 Speaker Bose sound system (Normally, as an audiophile, I'm not a fan of Bose, but they really did a great job matching the system to the car, and the power amp upgrade really brought out the highs. Lows were never a problem with the 4 6" subs in the trunk deck, for all but the real boom boom lovers who are too deaf to hear properly now anyway.) I even added the matching 10disc changer in the trunk.

It's hard to believe the market value of this car is as low as it is.

I'm thinking somewhere between $6-$7000 ... which quite frankly hurts to say because the car is pretty darn close to mint and had a list price of $84K and honestly doesn't look far from when it was new.

But I believe for THIS car, that's a realistic number.

Any less I'd have a hard time justifying the sale and might consider just building a garage and keeping it. Seriously.
