2003 E55 AMG
All,
Due to unforeseen circumstances, I have to part ways with my newly acquired E55. I have enjoyed every second of this car and absolutely hate to part ways with it. I will be back, just need to sort through a few things first!
Specs:
2003 E55 AMG
63K Miles
Warranty for another 12K (through easycare)
Extras/Add's /
LET Tuned (507 HP)
Carbon Fiber Front Lip
Painted Rear Spoiler
Upgraded Head Unit
Upgraded Steering wheel (wood matched perfectly)
SL63 Rims (replica's)
STAR lowered
Ronal Winter Rims with Tires
Upgraded Lighting + Fogs
Car has Pano Roof, two tone (merlot/black) interior. Car is absolutely perfect mechanically speaking, the aesthetics are in fine shape! New brakes/rotors (under 2K since work performed). Pre-wired for radar detector. Car truly speaks for itself, it is in awesome shape. I can email the carfax to anyone who wants it.
I purchased this E55 from a fellow forum member in Chicago, Alex. He is a class act and took great care of the car. I hope to find another enthusiast who wants a good deal!
24K takes the car home!

Wow, crazy interest. Perhaps I'll raise the price (kidding). The car is located in Milwaukee. I'll help travel to Chicago, to help anyone out with proper shipping or picking it up. The car is awesome, it will be a sad day for me when she goes. Life throws curveballs at you sometimes and I need to get a few things settled before I get back to another E55.
Yes, I did purchase it in Sept. The car is absolutely awesome!!!

All PM's responded to, I am in negotiations with one forum member who has the highest offer on the table. Thank you all for the interest!! While I HATE to sell this car, my situation forces it and I am thankful it will go to one of the great enthusiasts on this board.
.... I really should turn this into an auction,

Perhaps I am missing something, but this car has passed both IL and WI inspection as recently as July 2009 and Sept 2009 without cats. I have the proof if needed...

Here it is. It is illegal to tamper with, remove or sell a vehicle with the converters removed. You can be sued civily and the deal recinded. This is the same in all states, and your just lucky they did not look under the car.
http://www.epa.state.oh.us/portals/2...er_dealers.pdf
Question: Is it illegal to take off the catalytic converter on a car?
Answer: Yes. It is a violation of federal law to tamper with the environmental equipment on your car. In addition, it will make it very difficult to pass your state's environmental 'smog' emissions tests

His wife crazy
Emoving is right. It is the one thing that kept me from buying the car when it was first offered, you will have to put cats back on it to make a legal sale. Alex did make full disclosure of the catless race exhaust in his for sale ad.
Drop a couple of high flow cats on it and increase the asking price.

Need to disclose the lack of cats, sure. Is it a problem, no. Pop on an aftermarket set and you are good to go. Someone is spending how much for a car should not be afraid of a bit of "maintenance". Other than disclosure and knowing what you are getting into, not an issue.
