Kleemann '00 CLK430 coming up

Guys (and girls if there are any),

I just picked up a W211 E55 to better accomodate my next kid due in a few months and will putting up my Kleemann CLK coupe for sale in a few weeks after I get all my info sorted out, pics, etc. Detailed service history since 45k miles. I'm second owner - owned since Apr/May '05 so 5 years. Originally AZ car then L.A.

The short story is:
-90k miles
-green/gray
-green tint windows to match car
-old-style Kleemann blower system
-seriously upgraded stereo (JL subs, Rockford Fosgate amps and components, Pioneere 5700DVD cd/dvd touchscreen head unit with Ipod interface, AudioControl Three.1 pre-amp, MB 6-cd changer not connected currently)
-H&R's (original springs included)
-wood/leather wheel
-320 front bumper to replace the idiotic AMG/430 bumper
-stock 17" chrome AMG rims

Blower kit installed by Cory/Brendan at Kleemann in Colo. Springs so you know it was done right.

No collision damage or paint work ever with exception of replacing front bumper cover after cracking the original one on L.A. parking stops. Who let that bumper design out of MB?

It's a very good, very clean car but not perfect. Generally an 8/10. Great daily driver that is seriously powerful. I was somewhat disappointed as not really an upgrade on lb/hp in E55. Ran 4.7s 0-60 on Gtech (don't start with Gtech thrashing - just an fyi). Never dyno'd that I know of.

Full disclosure on all faults:
- Minor rock chips and a couple of small door dings as you'd expect in a car with 90k miles
- Driver's seat motor makes odd noise (has since I got it, never had an issue)- A little bit of stitching coming undone in passenger seat (also been that way since I got it; up by shoulder so not an issue on seat)
- Minor alternator whine in stereo (I'm not good enough at wiring to find it)

Major work (not really major):
- Replaced alternator
- Replaced crank position sensor
- Replaced diff

Did basic stuff myself and receipts on everything else. Just put on new front brakes a couple weeks ago (200 hundred miles?). Done all the little stuff like brake and coolant flushes, regular syn oil changes, multiple transmission fluid and filter changes to maximize life even though not "required", replaced o2 sensor, occasional MAF, wideband o2 bung in exhaust to simplify fuel pressure tuning, etc.

This has been a perfectly reliable daily driver for me since early '05. The car is sick fast at somewhere around 4.7 seconds 0-60 mph. There is no need to run engine over 3k rpm given the massive torque off the line. It looks stunning even though not a perfect 10. Great, reliable, cheap fun in a classy car with lots of upgrades.

I'll put it on autotrader in a few weeks after I have time for detail, etc. Not sure where to price it. Thinking somewhere around CLK55's so starting at $15k/obo although I think it is a lot more car than a stock CLK55, I do recognize it is not an AMG so please spare me commentary. Happy to engage with serious inquiries. Thanks for looking. Photos and better info to come shortly.

not yet

Had car in shop today and tomorrow:
- Had seat pulled, cover removed to restitch the 3" of stitching that was coming undone.
- Having shop put in an OE o2 sensor tomorrow that tripped a code

Will try to have detailed on Saturday so it's ready to go. Hopefully I can post some photos Sat night or Sunday.

Photos & Update

Here are some photos (pre-detail) but should provide a good idea of how clean it is. I had the stitching in the pass seat fixed and replaced an o2 sensor (with OE).

And more...

last ones for now...

Wheels are in great shape too. Chrome is perfect.

Note the one close up on hood. There are some rock chips like you get in a car with 90k miles. Not noticeable other than when you wash it and are up close.

And the last ones...

Car was fully detailed today and looks amazing. Feels faster than e55 although I think it is just lighter and whippier and throttle response is more sensitive.

Kleemann badges in back (name and circle K logo), MB "V8 Compressor" badging on right and left front fenders. CLK43 moniker in back right.

Stock AMG exhaust. As you can see from headunit home screen, it supports all sorts of upgraded sources. Currently plays CD's and DVD's and Ipod hookup through proper Apple connector that also recharges ipod. Full ipod control through headunit. Have cheater wires to run DVD while driving although not a good idea. Headunit also operates with screen closed and has a mini theft plate that is the size of a stick of gum roughly and fits easily in your pocket.

Have manuals on pre-amp, headunit, original MB radio, the MB CD changer is is mounted in the trunk (I never used it and just saw it is missing cartridge). Not sure if compatible with Pioneer headunit.

Feel free to ask questions. I'm am open book. I can post a detailed service history if anyone is interested. For high res pics, please give me your email in a PM.

Thanks for looking.
