Selling my BS.....
Well, it's been a great car, but given I don't track the car and really don't drive it the way it's meant too, I'm selling it to purchase something a little more civil, SL65 (not a BS). Most of you know the car, here are some selling points.
-Full front clear protection, including rear fenders, half of roof, lower rocker panel, A-pillears, Door Edges, Front Grille, Mirrors and extra removable film at under side in case of scrapes, at a cost of $3,500 by Premier Protective Films
-EVO Sport installed lowering springs, wheels spacers, Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel and door panel trim/clove box. CF was $6,000, previous owner had the springs and wheel spacers.
-Tint all around
-Custom indoor car cover $350
-RennTech Sounds Pipes (primary cats still in place) at a cost of $3,000
-Alcantara Black #9002 OEM Mercedes Benz headliner including Pillars, $2,000
-Carbon Fiber larger Air Box and newly installed BMC air filters, $2,500
-Carbon Fiber Mirror covers, $1,000
-MB Dealership installed OME Blue Tooth, $2,500
-New Tires michelin Sport SP2, just installed an only has 2 miles on them (driven directly from tire installer and parked) filled with Nitrogen, $1,800
-All fluids drained at 1,000 miles, $700 (including transmission) completed at MB Dealer
-Recent B service just completed at MB dealership with 5,000 miles, $400
-Always garaged and covered, hand washed after each drive, waxed with $500 wax every three months.
-5,900 miles
Car is perfect, not a scratch never driven in rain car has not been tracked or even driven aggressively, no burn outs, always garaged and only driven very occasionally on Sunday's in good weather. No pit marks on windshield, interior is perfect and no scuff marks at side buster on either the driver or passengers seat.
Let me know if you're interested, will be listing on Autotrader.
$88,500
Thanks
Todd

Chuck Z, yep, I've already had three very low offers ranging from $70K to $74K. I'm firm at $79,500. I need to make room for a SL65 and I want to pull the trigger on a couple I have my eye on, but the wife want's it sold first. I may end up pulling the trigger and consigner the car at a local dealer.

Figures...... whatever your price (in this case a smokin deal!) people are going want it for less. As you suggest, you'd be better off $ wise buying whatever your looking at and selling the BS afterwards for market value. Never a good situation for a seller to want something else and sell what they've got below market. You are currently the lowest price BS on autotrader.....

I just bought a SL65 from SF MBZ a couple weeks ago. I love it. Of course it doesn’t handle like the BS – or have the sound. But it’s ultra smooth around town, and when you need it, spinning up those turbos is serious fun. Are you looking at the one in Tampa? I was on that one but the dude didn’t get it to the check-out fast enough – I think he was out of town. Mercedes Complete in Tampa is who you want to check that one.

Chuck z, you're right on the money and it's looking as if I'll take that route.
Johno530, yes, I was just about to pull the trigger on that SL65 in Tampa, however, my service adviser advised against buying from Tampa as the salt air and humidity are not a friend to cars, so I passed.
How many miles on your SL65? What Year?

I'm from Tampa. I have never heard of anyone not buying a Fla because of the humidity or salt. Salt is NOT an issue as many people do not live by the bay. Also, most cars here are garage kept so humidity isn't a real issue either. If you need help looking at that Tampa SL feel free to e-mail me anytime.

It's a 2008 with 35k mi. More mileage than I had in mind, but the car was CPO and in very good condition. They had it marked down to $88k - since they gave me what I wanted on my trade ('05 S4), I gave them their asking price and it was an easy no hassle deal.
FYI the Tampa SL65 - I talked with the guy at Complete Mercedes and they serviced the car - they said the car was in great shape. That one has the CF interior which I wanted - but most of them are Walnut (like mine).

Oh and here's some trivia: When I got the SL65 I was very surprised when I looked at the sig on the motor: Joachim Schmidt built both my CLK Black and SL65. What's really interesting is the current MBZ VP Sales and Marketing has the same name. Either it's a different guy, or that mechanic got a hell of a promotion. At any rate, I owe Mr. Schmidt a beer.

John530, is this the SL65 in Fla you were referring to with 8,600 miles? This is a certified car and not a scratch on it. Got them down to $71,500, including three year extended warranty and shipping. This has two parts in CF, shift lever and rear spoiler.

No it was an '08 with about 28k mi. I was only looking for an '07-'08. Not anything wrong with '05-'06, I just liked the slight styling changes at '07 (grill and exhaust). Also, the "ABC" issue mentioned before was fixed in '07, but I'm not sure how significant it is. With CPO you can buy 1 or 2 more years warranty (on top of the original 4 yrs and 1 yr CPO) - so seems like that would alleviate any concerns about an '05. I'd say $71.5k w/8600 mi CPO is a sweet deal.
