ended up trading my FX in for a new FX50.... so no e55 for me (not worth it)


my dad is still interested in picking one up, and my brother is looking at E5004matics so Ill still be surfing the site....

See i told you.... a car that you want ( E55,low miles,excellent condition,has warranty and not too far from where you live ) for $22,000 is probably not going to happen for few more decades..

Bottom line is..you are right...this car is definately not worth it or can we say ..You ain't worth this car

I was actually looking at ones for around $30k as well and they still weren't worth it in my book..... 60k+ miles, no warranty, I just dont have the time in my current position to deal with something like that especially when a few that I looked at had things wrong with it, or cheesy wheels, past mods meaning it was beat on, etc....even ones with warranties they wanted too much for what it was. (sometimes as much as 5k+ more for it still being a CPO)

and I'm not worth this car? what is that supposed to mean?
it's not like the e55 is some expensive exclusive car....
I wasn't as worried about the price as I was what I was getting for my money. I didnt see a reason in spending more than 30k on a 4+year old car with that many miles when I can get something much more worth it for that money plus my car as a trade (which I did) now, when the e55s are worth 15k (which they already are depending on mileage) mine will still be worth more than double that.....

Plus, who wants to pay for a motor thats worth more than the actual car it's in? it just didnt add up in my book. Maybe I'm looking at it differently than others, or maybe it's because I'm 20 while a lot of the e55 guys are older.
Yeah, the E55 is sweet, its fast, blah blah. It's a great car I'm not denying that. But the price was not right.
and I still want AWD for now....

As i said, my father is still interested in one for himself now as a toy, so we'll see what pops up. He has a bit more to spend obviously but if he's going to spend $30k+ for a decent one it would make more sense to get the newer car regardless of the performance and AMG aspects of the e55.

In the meantime, I'll be enjoying my new Fx50 and still searching around for cars for my father (e55, e5004matic, e5504matic) and my brother (e350/5004matic)

I have a 2006 E55 AMG Black on Black with every option available except the mobile phone. It just hit 62,000 miles and is in immaculate condition inside and out!! The car also has E63 wheels on it, and the tires have 80% tread left on them. I would let her go for $30,000. I hate to see her go but its time for a new house. Let me know if your interested and I would be happy to send you some pictures.
