Mercedes AMG Hammer. I am listing My 1987 Mercedes Benz 300E Real AMG Hammer. This is the 6.0 Litre four cam hand built motor that helped put AMG on the map in the United States. This car is a US spec car that was sold new To Mr. Stuart Haim in 1987 from Beverly Hills Motoring Accessories for the sum of $187,000.00. It is finished in its original color and is original paint in better than new condition always garaged under a cover. I Have owned this car for 14 years with no problems it has always ran excellent. All services have been up too date, the Ac has been serviced, A period correct upgraded sound system and Mitsubishi 800 cell phone is still in the optional cell phone arm rest and the transporter to make the phone mobile in the trunk, it will not work on any cell services but is still cool. The car has the Full AMG body kit, 17 Inch Mono Bloc wheels, I have two sets one in chrome and one that is currently on the car that has Black powder coated centers. Full AMG exhaust system with AMG headers, All AMG suspension to accommodate the heavier 8 Cyl motor, upgraded brakes, Stiffened sub frame, rebuilt and stronger transmission with 1st gear start. The car rated at aprox 385 HP. 0-60 in 5 sec and a top speed of 187MPH. AMG Speedo cluster in grey, and burl wood shifter. The interior is like new, the leather is faded, dyed, or dry, the dash is perfect, no one ever sat in the rear seats, all rubber trim is still soft and not dried out. I sold my other two Hammers at Barret- Jackson in January and think this is the best of the three cars, it has 20,000 miles on it, I have a clean California title there are no issues the car is currently registered and insured. Price-$ 45,000

This one has been posted for a LONG time......seems like 45k isn't getting it off the market, though I think they may have come down a bit in price (I seem to remember it being around 60k initially). Nice looking car anyway, looks like they are being patient looking for the right buyer who is willing to pay a fair price for such a beast.

E 63S Wagon Renntech, E55 Renntech, SL65, SL 55 030, ML, bunch of old ones--they come, they go...
Please don't take offense....
but you don't. Neither do I. This is the problem with cars like this. Those of us that know what it is, and appreciate what it is, cannot own it. It's a cash car. No one is going to loan any money on it. I'm not sure there is $45k in cash in the United States right this minute.
Those who CAN afford it have no interest. The money means nothing to them, so they want whatever is the latest, greatest thing out there. Only way this works is if you find a real AMG geek, with lots of dollars, who wants this in his garage. Perhaps he is in Scottsdale this year, worked last year, right?
I wish I could.

He should list it on ebay.de...it'll get more serious interest I bet....and possibly a buyer at that price.
Sweet ride, the grand-dad to all these super-sedans.

I like retro cars as much as anyone but given a choice, for $45K I'd buy an E63. And you can buy a really nice 500E for $10-$12K that has 90% of the performance of that car. Now if it had the 5-speed, I may change my mind.

I know this is a super old thread, but do you have any idea where this car went? I'm a writer/photographer looking for an original 300E AMG Hammer 6.0 (or US conversion done immediately after purchase) to shoot for an article. Thanks!

There are a few in the USA most done by AMG Central in Westmont Illinois.
You might want to contact Jonathon Hodge at 404 805 1357
blueridgemb@gmail.com
He owns the ex Aaron Ruskin "Hammer" wagon and was recently featured in the MBCA "Star" magazine.
Jonathan is probably the most knowledgable individual in the USA on the DOHC "Hammer" motors.
