Chomp Sticks,
I took a look at this car a couple months back. I stopped by twice and drove it twice as well. I was seriously on the fence about it but in the end, I decided to hold off. I did like the color, the car was clean, the wheels look freshly painted and are in great shape. I didn't like the guy I was talking to, the car has no records other than what's in the Car Fax. When I drove it, the S/C bearing sounded awful and definitely needed changing. I'm hoping they changed it (they said they would before selling). The owner seemed cool and the car was nice. I didn't like the A/M head unit and really wanted a stock car. With the lack of records, lack of options and what I felt was a high price, I passed and waited. My new wagon was delivered last week and I'm super stoked. In the end, it seemed like a pretty good car as long as they fix the bearing and broken driver's fog lamp. Good luck in your search!

Clean PPI then it's coming home. If it has issues maybe I can talk them down more?

That's great news for you. I didn't get far enough to talk price with them. I do agree that it's high, based on what another sold for in LA and what I paid for mine, with more options and less miles. Overall, it looked like a good car and you should he happy with it. Hopefully it all works out today with the PPI.

Oh, man. Sorry to hear that. Was it the condition of the car or the price? When I was looking, I liked the fact that it had been serviced by a SoCal MB dealer most of its life. However, with the neglect of trying to sell a visibly bad S/C bearing, I wonder what else would have come out in a PPI. I can't imagine anyone buying it with the bearing so bad. I also didn't like the sales guy telling me he had been driving it around for a week or two. Not words you really want to hear... Sorry it didn't work out. Good luck with your search! I found an 06 with 64K on it with some good options. Getting a few things sorted on it tomorrow and I'll be posting pics. It was amazingly clean. You'll find one...

Understood. I am also very picky and was looking for more or less of a garage queen. I found 90% of what I was looking for and I'm already working on the final 10% to make it as nice as it can be. However, mine is black on black and it's not my first choice. I don't really like black cars because I'm very picky about cleanliness and it shows everything. However, since I was looking for a last model year 2006, there are only less than 70 to chose from and I'm guessing more than 4/5 of those wouldn't be up to my standards or taste, so I took a chance... Agreed that the sales guys are very nice there and were very helpful when I was looking at it. In the end, it will be right for somebody. Best of luck!

Thanks! Yea I don't want silver or black... 05 or 06 is fine with me though. Just cuts down on choices since most came in those colors.
