1997 Mercedes Benz C36 AMG
1997 Silver C36 AMG
I take it seriously when it comes to maintaining my car.
It has been serviced and maintained religiously, HOWEVER, DUE TO A RECENT COOLANT MALFUNCTION, THE CAR DOES HAVE A HEAD GASKET THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. The engine will cranK AND start fine. Hence the price adjustment. I will be out of the country soon for deployment, thus I will not be able to address the current problems. SOLD AS IS.
It's time for me to let go this car and I'd like to see it go to a good home, and hopefully someone else from this forum will have a chance to own such a great machine from AMG.
Main key, valet key, and master key will be included along with original manual, service books and folder.
All sound system are still the original BOSE components.
Also, want to be upfront that the title shows that this car was a buyback/lemon vehicle. Don't panic, i feel that its a plus since MERCEDES bought back the car from the first owner due to the rumbling noise that ALL C36 makes. For him, its just wasn't acceptable since he paid close to $60K for this car in 1997. Mercedes bought the car back at 33,853 miles and replaced all necessary parts to re-sell the car under certified mercedes vehicle.
Carfax shows extensive service record from the first date of purchase where the car was serviced and purchased from Caliber Motors Mercedes Benz dealership in Anaheim, CA.
Currently it has 144,000 ORIGINAL miles on the clock. No rips or tear on all leather seats.
Exterior: 8/10 - Had the front hood, fenders, bumper and rear bumper professionally resprayed with BASF Glassurit paint. Few door dings, all original AMG Factory body panels.
Interior:9/10
Registration is good till June 2012
I am the third owner of the car, and it has clean CARFAX history, with extensive dealer service history. Also, have all receipt to recent major maintenance including engine head work, clutch, ac, tranny, etc.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Very neat car.
Why has the head gasket blown again, I saw that it was changed just over two years ago. Also have you determined why the car is not starting, even a car with a blown head gasket will fire-up, cough, splutter and run.

yes the car is still for sale. I see coolant in the piston 1 area and would like to sell the car as is.
$4000 takes it. Would need to be towed. Everything else are in good shape... if i don't sell it, i'll probably part it out or just leave it in my garage until i come back to redo the motor.
Quick sale, $4000 cash!!! firm!!!

also, I suspect that the reason as to why the engine over heats is that there is a leakage in the cooling system. Ran it hot, although i didn't see the temp gauge to go over 100deg.
Therefore, for the first time since i've owned this vehicle... it overheated.
