Thanks [180] for your post:
""I looked at this car last night, I drove 100+ miles to go look at it - went through it inside and out, the car is clean, everything is stock as it came from the factory, and the PPI from Calstar Mercedes shows nothing unusual (there were a few minor things you'd expect for an 8 year old car but nothing major). Even all the electrics work - navi, memory seats, rear sunshade, rear vents, everything. Carfax shows it as a 2 owner California car.""

From my research the big ticket items on the E55 are the SBC (already replaced on this car) and airmatic (working fine on this car but if you need replacement shocks are $500/ea from Arnott, can be DIY replaced and theres quite a bit of info in the E55 forums). Also I'd do a transmission fluid change soon as preventative maintenance but that's also an easy DIY job.
I already made an offer to the seller but he needs it sold today and I'd have to wait for my bank to process a loan which can't be done that quickly.
I'm really hoping someone from MBWorld who appreciates these cars has the cash to pick it up and keeps it in original condition, this is really as good as advertised and it's rare to find an E55 that's in this good of a condition and at this price.

To the OP-
Are those pics you took or are they pics from the dealer when you bought it a while back?
Car has not improved.
I have more time to show the car now.
The buyer who saw it really liked the car - it was as described. His offer was still less then asking and that had an effect on things.
