Selling my 2014 Mercedes-Benz GL550 AMG with only 25K miles. We are the second owners of this fine vehicle having purchased mid last year from Mercedes-Benz Financial as an off-lease vehicle. At this point we are ready to move into a Diesel so GL350 has made it into the garage!

We purchased this SUV with 9K miles as an offlease SUV. Right after the purchase we got the dealer to perform 10K Service aka Service A. We use this for our road trips and kids love it. We have put 15000 miles on it in just 8 months and have enjoyed it. It is our road trip vehicle so sits in the garage most of the time until we are ready to go on a road trip.

We just got the 20K mile service done at RBM of Atlanta. That is called Service B. We also did Service A here when we first bought the SUV.

Before we purchased this we noticed a minor fender bender on the autocheck and carfax. We have no idea since it happened before we purchased it. Carfax shows it as a very minor damage so we are assuming traffic red light bump. Did not care as it was nothing and still have no idea what it was.

Vehicle is sold AS IS with NO warranty what so ever. It is still under factory warranty from Mercedes-Benz

What was the reason to move to the diesel. Is the difference in gas mileage that significant

 

It was more about convenience. With GL550 on our road trips we had to stop at least 3 times on a 650-700 mile road trip. I prefer least number of stops so ordered a GL350 with all the options as a 550 including front and rear AMG conversion.

So far have not noticed ANY sluggishness that most people talk about.

I just got my ordered GL350 couple months ago and would love to have that AMG package on it. How did you do the order with AMG conversion ? Can you share it ? Thank you.

 

This is a trick question for you. They both say the same RANGE when you fill them up 629. It changes a lot as you drive. I have yet to take the 350 on a long road trip but it is coming up soon and will post back here. 550 usually gets me 350-390 before I have to fill up driving 80mph or so

 

I basically went to the dealer and ordered all the pieces for front and rear from the 550 parts list. Waiting for them to be painted now. The most expensive parts were the bumpers and the freaking fender flares...

 

It took me 2 tanks of diesel to go from NYC to West Palm Beach. Distance is 1220 miles. Average speed about 70-75 mph.

 

i guess all those numbers are better than the 12mpg i get with my 2006 yukon denali 6.0L
especially the way my wife drives in mostly city, kid hauling

im thinking about a gl but really like how i can get 3 car seats across the middle of the yukon.


not keen on the gl450 with its now 6 cyl engine tho.

450 was always the orphan child.. and now its worst with the 6cyl lol. But 450 is the leading sales number for MB which I find odd. Its either 550 or 350 for me when you factor in the options. To each and their own.

So with your 350, you had to get the 550/63 bumper for the AMG appearance right? I know the 450 appearance is different even with the package.

Yes I ordered all the parts from 550 since I had one and it was easier to show the local MB Dealer parts dept on what I am looking for.

To be honest with you I dont know how folks can drive a 450 and 350 without AMG appearance.. i think AMG appearance should be a MUST because without them all MB cars look ugly.. I am sure I will get flamed for this comment soon

The 450 amg package doesn't change much besides the side step and wheels. Not worth it on any model lower than the 550. Shared this vehicle with some interested party in SF.

I just prefer the "looks" of 550 and convenience of 350 hence the mashup of the two Been busy with meetings so did not get a chance to drop off the 350 at the bodyshop for the install of all the new parts yet.

I bought a complete (I think) front and back bumper new for a 2015 550. I just need the fender flares but I couldn't find them online. Do you have the part numbers for the fender flares?


If possible, do you have the part numbers for all of the other pieces you bought? There are a few that I am still unsure I need (i.e. air baffle for AMG package with off road package - $120).
