Preferably with the xenon package and black/white interior, but black is fine too. Anything under 150k miles.

Not much in the country right now that I can find, so thought I'd post here.

Thanks!

My 1998 C43 AMG with 125K on stock engine/tranny. Runs great, designo interior, HID headlights + wipers. Interior is 9/10, no rips or tears. Installed suede headliner last year, really updated the interior. Located in Springfield, MO, but could easily make the drive to OR no problemo. I bought it in AZ and took it to Cali and then MO back in 2011.

Gah!!! I bought one in MD, just waiting to get it on a truck and out to me. If it turns out to be a turd, I'll definitely hit you up JohnnyRock, because yours is perfect, unmolested.

No worries, I really don't want to sell it. It's a great f'ing car!

I noticed your sig says you have a '06 E55. I was thinking of getting one of those, how do you like it?

I'm not in the market for, or an selling, a C43; however, I can appreciate the "I really don't want to sell it" sentiment. I've got an 05 SL65 with 44k and a 99 E55 with 56k; both in great shape. I put the 55 up for sale several years ago after buying the 65 and haven't really negotiated much because each time I look at and drive it I realize how great it is. A simple, naturally aspirated no-frills (compared to today's models) beast that is a complete and reliable joy.

I need to update that, I no longer have the E55. It was an amazing car though, didn't really corner/handle worth anything, but FAAASSSSTTT. The power was addictive. That said, the electronic problems started as soon as I bought it: GPS antenna died, alarm horn shorted and started killing the battery, driver front keyless-go door handle was dead when I bought it, etc.

I sold it because the car was literally "too big" for me, the seats were too long on the bottom and I couldn't adjust it properly.

My "new" 43 is on it's way from MD, from the pics I've seen the car looks to be in REALLY good shape. 1 owner, should have all records, etc.

Thanks for the 411 on the E55. I read a FS Thread for one where the guy swapped out the whole air ride bull**** for a true coilover suspension. He said it transformed the car. I guess I'll go back to looking at E39 BMW M5's!

Yeah, you can go that route with the air suspension if you want, it's not a quick swap though, there's some work done to make it happen. The drivetrain is solid, it's the rest of the car that has issues LOL. Partly why I'm going back to a C43, had NO issues with my last one.

If you're looking at the E39, do your homework, they have their own issues as well. I was considering one as well, decided against it though.

So, I got the one from MD...looked GREAT at first glance. Engine/transmission feel solid, interior is an 8 at least, sadly the body has had some pretty heavy work done not reported on the CarFax. I'll be replacing all 4 doors at some point I think, maybe the hood as well, they messed up the metal around the windshield washer nozzles, as well as breaking both of them in the process.

Glove box light doesn't work, bulb is good. Couple other things I need to look into as well, but the important bits are solid. Body panels can be replaced.

Pics after a wash, some pics of the poor paint job, interior/wheels/drive train are solid.

Why was the car re-sprayed? Was it involved in a collision? Factory paint does not chip like that?

Did you see my post above?? I mentioned that it's been resprayed, and has had some body work done at some point. The fixed panels seem to be fine/solid, so I'm not too worried about it. Going to be a restoration project.

Hi JohnnyRock I am also looking for a C43 AMG. I'm new here and can't figure out how to send a PM. Is there a figure at which you'd be willing to part with your C43?
