WANTED: '07 or '08 SL55 AMG
I'm looking to buy an '07 or '08 SL55 AMG. Silver exterior with red interior. Panoramic roof, Keyless Go, Xenons. Prefer less than 65k miles. Must be fairly priced. Please email amr@jhmi.edu or call 408 892-1000.

The SL63 didn't arrive until '09. In '07 & '08, you had the choice of the SL55 8 cyl or SL65 12 cyl. Most say that the last two years of the round headlights were the best years as most of the bugs had been worked out. Problem is that production numbers had dropped significantly by then so there are fewer to choose from now. I've been on the search for the right '08 for quite a while now.
To the original poster, I will let you know if I run across what you are looking for if you will keep an eye out for me. I'm looking for an Alabaster White SL55 with black int. Prefer Pano roof, Parktronic, Keyless Go, etc. Problem is that most white cars have Stone or Berry Red interiors. Good luck with your search!

That's correct, the SL55 was produced from 2003 through 2008; the first year of the SL63 was 2009.

Here are the production #'s for the '03-'08 SL55's
'03 - 3095
'04 - 2280
'05 - 1072
'06 - 860
'07 - 583
'08 - 464
SL65's are even less. Now you see why it's so hard to find a good, clean, low mile '07 or '08 in the color combo you want. In my case, there are probably less than 50 White/Black '08's out there. Have not been able to find out the exact breakdown for #'s by colors or options but the majority each year are Silver or Black.

Thanks for this information. It appears that my odds are 1 in a 1000 to find a '07 or '08 SL55, let alone the color combo, and options that I'm looking for.
That said, I wonder what the production numbers are for SL63s as they appear to be much rarer than SL55s.

Nah, I'm only looking for an '07 or an '08 SL55 with a silver exterior and a red interior as I already have an '09 SL63 with silver exterior and black interior.
Must haves: keyless go, xenons and pano
