Anybody know the story behind this car?

Hey all,

I've been keeping an eye out for W221 S65's for a while and I've seen this one pop on eBay a few times.

This is the seventh time it's been listed and people have bid on it (and won) so I'm not sure why it keeps getting relisted. Before I message the seller and ask if it's a scam I thought I'd check on here and see if anyone had seen this car before.

couple of Benzos
not sure what's wrong with it but I saw this car last week driving by and had to do a double take to make sure it was a 65 (pretty rare car) and indeed it is

It def sounds like a shill bidding scenario. The seller will use another account or have a friend bid on it to entice more demand and / or drive the price up etc. It also could have something wrong too, who knows. Either way it very possibly has a shady element to it so be thorough.

Agreed - every prior auction is won by someone new with no feedback. Too coincidental.

I think what is hurting the cars price is the odd color and black wheels. I love black rims but with the color car they should be silver. I have an S65 - amazing car, would certainly buy this one if I was looking.

I actually like the color, it's a nice change from all the black S-Class's out there. I saw a red 2008 S65 on eBay about a year ago...quite stunning! I don't really have an opinion either way about the wheels (black vs silver) but they appear to be cheap knock-off wheels since I don't see the raised block with "AMG" stamped in it. I'm really not a fan of anything aftermarket on these cars, but for the price I'm still tempted...

Well, it's listed again. Albeit this time with a much higher reserve than before.

Really starting to wonder what the story is behind this car.

Love it. "BRING $52,995.00 FIRM FIRM ." - buy it now is $49,999.

I'd ask for receipts on the "bigger turbos" - very vague.
