2003 SL55 FOR SALE
SL55 for sale Listing my 2003 SL55 for sale. Car has a very clean black body, no dings on the body. Paint is nice and shiny, interior is very clean and dark gray. I would rate the body 8/10 and the interior 8/10. Typical drivers seat bolster wear but minimal. Car also has lojack and 52,xxx miles on the odometer. All 4 tires changed 7k miles ago. Car has pano roof, rear trunk spoiler and Garys carbon fiber front spoiler.
I rarely drive the car, 17k miles in my 8 years of ownership. Well taken care of, I changed the oil every 4k miles. Starter battery is 3 years old and trunk batterie is brand new, always maintained with Ctek charger. Oil changed less than 200 miles ago along with a step colder spark plugs. I have never had any issues with the ABC suspension or anything else for that matter. The car was also certified pre-owned by MB when I purchased her in 2009.
PRICE CHANGE NEW PRICE 16,000.01
Mileage is 52,7XX
90mm Throttle body with custom intake manifold, stock intake boxes with K&N filters
168 Renntech lower pulley
UPD 83mm clutch upper pulley
MBH long tube headers, no cats or resonators, sounds amazing
Killer Chiller with a 2 gallon tank
Intercooler below the supercharger is custom, 2 in the cold side and 2 out on the hot side, its a dual feed single pass intercooler with 2 intercooler pumps that makes for a really trick setup and keeps IAT temps in check.
Belt wrap kit.
550cc injectors and looped fuel rail
20 inch MHT black 5 spoke with chrome lips. 305s on the rear of both stock and MHT wheels.
Stock 18inch turbine rims, fronts do not have tires, rears have nitto drag radials with probably 50% wear.
Car has a trick catch can, no more oil in the intake like the stock setup.
Brand new trunk struts
Upgrade 3rd brake light
Minus 10 mod, fan kicks on at a lower temp to cool radiator.
New engine mounts and trans mount.

Wish you weren't so far away. Love your car though and would love to get into it. Definitely the one I would buy.
I'll have to see what I can do. Keep me in the back of your mind

It might be the "mods". And its drag strip use.
She's a gorgeous car but I have learned that potential buyers in this forum are very selective of what they look for. Not saying this is the case with your SL55 but as cool as the track videos are, they may give the perception that the car may have been "abused", if that makes sense. This would put off a potential buyer that may decide to look for a car that has been driven by "a little old lady" instead.
I am sure this is not the case here (love the car!) but that may be part of it.

This particular SL55 was built to be fast and reliable. I made sure the tune was on the safe side, probably leaving 30+hp on the table. The 168 pulley combined with an 83mm supercharger pulley is in essence the same as running a 178 crank pulley. Reserved in my opinion and the only true power adding upgrades not stock.
All the other mods are just supportive in terms of cooling and free flowing exhaust.
I have never gone faster than the mph seen at the track. I drive the car on the street as though she were made of spit and twigs. Naturally after spending 15k in upgrades, I just wanted to enjoy the fruits of my labor. That does not include beating a car I cherish into the ground.
To put in context, I was 39 when I made the purchase, here I am today nearly 47. I'm not some kid filled with **** and vinegar looking for a showdown on the street.

I can understand that line of thinking and how a potential buyer could feel a bit apprehensive. The time spent at the track is negligible when one considers the life of the car. I would say out of 12 passes, 5 were full passes due to traction issues. PBIR has horrible track prep.

Agree with you 100%
And for the record, I'd rather buy a low mile car from a "car guy", such as yourself, than the "little old lady" one that may have not have been serviced properly.

Is this is the car from 2014? You've been trying to sell for 3 years or no? Have been slowly dropping the price over the 3 years or did you just put it back up at 6k less? I am lookin locally and comparing that is why I'm asking..

What an awesome car!
I cannot think of anything that gives more bang for the buck!! The right buyer will eventually come around...
Is it logging codes or turning on the CEL because of the missing cats? Do you have rear O2 simulators, or how are you getting around that?? I live in Arizona where we have plug-in emissions testing... they want everything to look 'READY' when they plug in.

I do have 02s and NO CEL since I had it programmed out by Mercedes Master Tech in Pompano. I have 2 gauges reading each bank for AFR data.
Right buyer. Yep, If i was in the market, this is the car I would buy. Its done performance wise, Its clean, could pass for a 2013 used car. The paint is clean, the interior looks as though there are only 20k miles. It hauls ***, dependable, once priced at 127,000. Dont get me wrong, its not showroom new, but I would say it is in the 90 percentile as far as shape. How many minty fresh 2003 SL55 are left and have the same owner for 9 years.
I know this car inside and out and I am proud to own it. I have 2 little ones and need a second car with 4 doors. Otherwise, I wouldn't part with her.
