Invisabra on ML63

Hey Guys, I have a great guy that does my tints on all my cars for years, he comes to the house or work, does it on the spot, and its usually a perfect job, if theres ever a prob he fixes it...

anyways I was thinking of putting this clear bra on my car, he says he would do it without the precut peices which would be better because he wont leave spaces... he wants $700 for the job though.

what do you guys think about doing it and the price?

The clear bras are the best. Nearly invisible, and very durable. I have also heard that they are very hard to apply and it's best done by a pro.

I wish I knew if $700 was reasonable or not. As for me I won't do it because I'm leasing my ML, so any small chips I'll just hit with touch up paint and Lanka smoother. But if I was keeping this rig long term...I'd do it. Maybe search the SL forum (with their long low hood) and see if they have any insights.

Sorry I'm not more help.

I don't know whether the price is good or not but when mine is delivered sometime soon I hope, I wanted to get the rear bumper done. What area are you in?

For a custom install with the best product used...

$6-700 is about right.

I have a painted rear bumper on my FX45 and it is almost impossible to reach into the back without touching the bumper with your legs or say the zipper on your jacket. When you are unloading groceries for example you have to be constantly on guard that you don't drag the bottom of the bag across the top of the bumper. Now I keep a bath towel in the back to drape over the bumper just in case.

I read on an Infiniti forum that other guys had used some product from 3M I think but I've never found out who actually installs it. The CLS models have a small strip of this product on the lower body just behind the rear doors so it must be available.

My guy just told me $895 for the front bumper and $450 for the rear. Puls $95 for the two from windows. Yikes.

I can justify the rear bumper given my experience but doing the front seems kind of pointless because the whole front end and the mirrors are all subject to chips. Where do you stop? It is probably inevitable that repainting is going to be needed anyway so if you're going to drive it, you're going to get chips.
