Beautiful car Squeaky brakes are par for the course on high performance cars. Rather annoying

BTW, Whoopsy- that's an amazing all-black stable you have there. Is the 997 stick ot tip?

the turbo is actually midnight blue instead of black, and it's a tip.

I would have wanted it in black but I didn't want to wait another 3 months for it.

Questions for current ML owners:

1) So the CD player plays mp3's. There isn't any need to get the 6-CD changer just to play mp3s? MBUSA.com leads you to believe you need the changer to play mp3's. Has the folder issue been solved? I'd hate to spend money on the changer only to find it doesn't allow you to surf by folders.

2) For those having bluetooth issues, are you using a compatible handset?

3) I've heard the same thing about Linguatronic. Its better now, BUT, training is a must.

4) What is the benefit of the LED tails?

5) Do you find the mirrors so small that there are large blind spots and you might install blind spot mirrors?

6) I'm in SoCal .. what is this S N O W you guys keep talking about?

I'm about to order a ML350 or 500 w/ AMG Sports package and almost all the options (brings the ML350 MSRP $43k to $66k, and the 500 to around 70k) so this will help me make some decisions.

Thanks!!

1)Haven't tried Mp3 cd but the i-pod is the reason why not. I'd prefer the i-pod to the c-d changer if it came down to having to make a choice.
2)Blue tooth for me is perfect. No static at all, phone can be in the golf bag in back. It is a razor so very compatible. Phone buttons on the console even work. Only problem is don't answer your phone after getting out within 50-100 feet of the car as you wont be able to talk (the phone is still connected to the car blue tooth)
3)Ling works well for me
4)No real benifit that I can see except good looks? But the stock smoked lights seem well done IMO.
5)yes the mirrors (passenger especially) are in need of very careful adjustment and even then a shoulder check is wise.
6) Snow is something that seems to be plentiful this year. Apparently your supposed to snort it. But all I get is a brain freeze.

If the AMG sport package comes with the DC suspension the same as in the ML63 it is awesome. This truck handles extremly fine in my view. Keyless go is also for me an absolute must. I think you will be very happy as MB has for the most part got it right this time.

Does the iPod integration allow non-iPods to be connected as well? sort of like the aux input on the SL's?

I might go for the iPod Integration and glove-box iPod cradle instead of the CD changer (moving parts in CD changer = things break). Plus 6 CDs x 700MB = 4.2GB.

Easily I could get an iPod w/ 40GB making a 6 CD changer useless.

So can you surf the folders of the iPod, etc., w/o a problem?

Lastly, yes the ML350 and 500 have "Airmatic Semi-Active Suspension with Adaptive Damping System (ADSII)" The ML63's page adds one more line to that paragraph, "Standard AMG Airmatic sport suspension" so maybe its a little different. Should be a great ride anyway from what I hear ..

Update:

Both Linguatronic and Bluetooth phone seem to be going much better now. I had to train the Linguatronic a number of times and change my phone book entries to more varied entries but now I can say that I am happy with both.

I haven't found a way to surf the folders of an mp3 cd in the changer so I think you are right in saying that an ipod alone would substitute for the changer.

These Hakka 5 tires are awesome in snow. Last week we had tons of the stuff and ice to boot. They are also doing fine on the dry but the 275 width doesn't give much room for error with the curbs as the bead only projects past the rims by a whisper. The tread pattern looks mean. No regrets thus far. Now I just need some summer rims for the Conti's. Do those Brabus monoblocks come in a 20"?

There is another thread w/ someone who has done LED installs. What exactly is the benefit? Just brighter?

The LEDs are brighter and a more modern aesthetic.

Congrats on the car, she looks great. Are you planning on selling the stock 20's? If so, I would be interested in them. I am looking to replace the stock 17's on my wife's 06 ml350. jfarrz@yahoo.com

Thx,

John

I am keeping the stock 20's for winter tires and will pick up some new rims for the summer tires.
