Yes this is a very very worthwhile option. I absolutely love stepping up to the car and pulling on the handle without having to press any buttons. The key never leaves your pocket which is great.
The thing is very well done too, so lets say you wanna get somethingout of your trunk. Well you walk up and pull on the trunk release lever and it opens without you having to unlock the car. You take out what you like and close the trunk door and the car locks by itself. believe it or not that is not trivial and no other car company has gotten it right imho.

Definitely worth it. I have Comfort Access on my M5 which has indentical features to MB's Keyless Go and other than the button start, you also have the convenience of never having to take the key out of your pocket when unlocking/locking the car. Finger contact with the door handle locks/unlocks it and in the case of the ML63 and other MB's, there are small button-like sensors that do the same thing. I ordered it on my ML63.

Question for ML63 owners with Keyless Go: in my M5, you can leave the car running and lock it from outside even with your key still in your pocket, which makes it convenient for running to the store or similar errand real quick while your car stays warm/cool. Does this work the same in the ML63? Or does the system sense the key is outside and either kills the engine and/or does not allow you to lock the car with the engine running when the keys are outside the car.

Well that sucks.... doesn't make sense why MB would do that... I think you should be able to lock it since the system is smart enough to recognize that the key is outside and with the person and there's no danger of locking the key in the car. This is the way comfort access works on bmw's and lexus and it is definitely an added convenience especially if you want to run out and warm up your car on a particularly cold night or other similar applications. Oh well, still a great feature regardless.

Not only can you not lock it if running, but anyone can jump in and put it in drive even without the key. IMO this was a fairly major oversight by MB. Even my 3 yr old Infinity has keyless go and it can be locked while running and won't come out of park without the key in the car. But the unlock is not as well done as MB. Locking is the same.

I might be the only one here but I don't love it. First, I can’t keep my keys on the nail in my garage anymore. This week I got back from a 4 day trip and the keyless go killed my battery. You have to keep it in your car or far enough away so it does not kill the battery. Second, when I don't want to keep the keys in my pocket I put them in the ashtray, one day after a hard right turn the keys ended up between the passenger seat and the center console. I still can’t seem to brake the habit of using fob.

20+ to list......
It's a very nice feature. I first had it in my E55, fell in love with it, and when I ordered my E550 & ML63, it's a must have option for me. One thing I don't like about it, totally my fault, is that when I pull into a garage with valet parking, I always forget to take out the key and leave it on the dash, so the valet has to run to me everytime asking for my key.

^LOL i did that once, valet drove it round to the car park, then had to make a round back to the restaurant and call me out for the key.

Not quite as funny as the time the boot was frustrating me by popping up everytime i closed it, about 4 times later to realise the key had fallen into the boot.

simple version is MB went the cheap route

Before the starter button for keyless go cars are on the shift knob, so they need to make 2 version of the knobs. MLs, GLs, Rs don't have console shifters anymore and nowhere to put the button. They figured out if they moved the electronics to a little universal plug, then ONE part is enough to cater for ALL the cars.

I took a pass on the keyless go because I couldn't justify the expense. I haven't regretted this decsion so far but maybe I will tire of that clunky 'square peg into a round hole' key they give you.

I'm ordering a ML350 .. same car as the ML500 which they offer it on, but they won't install it on the ML350 anymore. The dealer that can convince the factory to do this for me will win my business.

Whatever I feel like
Keyless go is by far the best option you can get on the ML63.

I thought the Keyless Go was the biggest waste of money I could imagine. Then I had it on my E55 wagon -- it came on a car I swung a great deal on. I can honestly admit I love using it, and will always have it on all my cars (if available) in the future...

My dad has keyless go in his Mercedes (which had it before Lexus) and I have the equal on my LS430.

I love it, I wouldn't buy a car without it (if it was an option).

can someone explain to me how this Keyless go works?
does the car have the slot for the key even with leyless go? and then you get a plug to put in if you want to use keyless go??

i've seen some pics of cars which spec keyless, but they dont have that button type thingy...... so im guessing you have to plug something in is that right?

For the ML63, there is a button that plugs into the key slot to the right of the steering wheel. You can remove it if you want, but there is always the risk of losing the thing. I remove it when I have my ML valet parked. For cars like the E class, or any Mercedes with a standard shift lever, the button is on top of the shift lever. I am sure the valet guys know about keyless systems by now, but you never know.
And yes, it is the best option you can get. It is a bigger jump in technology than when cars went from a key to a remote control key fob. Anyone who has it would never go back.

kewl for explaining

i was worried that the car i had bought (without seeing) didn't have it because the pic shows it without the plug in the key slot, although on the spec sheet on the web it says keyless specced
