Who makes he best tools?

I don't know if Snap On is the best, but they have been the only ones i have bought/used since high school.
We use to beat the crap out of the tools in auto class..... Imagine 100 hands per day trying to break bolts loose on old chevy's and fords.... (shudder)...
They held up really well. When one did break the Snap On rep would stop by and without a question asked, replace it on the spot.

I grew up using my dad's craftsman set. They were a good set of tool, but i think the quality has dipped a bit over the years. Plus, it seemed like Sears would give him a hard time when he brought in a broken tool.... I bet that depends on the location though....

Snap-On belongs in the quiver of any one who turns a wrench, but German tools for marque and task specific operations are hard to beat. Hazet makes quite a few, with Stahlwille not far behind. Heyco also has a few items that are nice, having a "definite purpose" feel to them.
