Where is the ML55 made?
Are all MLs made in Alabama? Or do the AMGs come from Germany. Is there a reliable differance between an 05 ML500 and a 01 ML55? Which is better? Any ML gurus out there I am thinking of trading in the wife 99 ML430 for something a little new and lesser mileage

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
Both
the 01 and 05 were produced in the states.
Why not try and find an 03 w210 wagon with low miles.Plenty of room,27mpg hway and dropped are very cool.7seats

Engines were then shipped to the Alabama plant where they were mated with there vehicle...
[smartass answer]The ML55 is currently made no where, its last production year was 03 meaning it hasnt been produced in 4 years...[/smartass answer]

hmm thats a tough one... I would have to say go for the ML500... I know I know dumb but the 05 is significantly better then the 05... if you found an 02 or 03 55 I would go for that!!!

01 ML 55, 06 300 Srt8 and 06 F350 Crew cab diesel
I have an 01 ML55 that I would sell. Its black and got 84k on it and I would take 18k.
Now thats out of the way if I were to do it again I would buy the ML500 over the 55 amg just for the ride difference. Our 55 has a much stiffer ride than the 500 but in a race I leave the 500 like the driver cant reach the pedels.

This is the most correct answer... the engines were hand assembled in Affalterbach, also tested/broken in
Engines were then shipped to the Alabama plant where they were mated with there vehicle...
