looking at getting into an ML63
My wifes car will be going back this summer and am looking at a replacement. I'm leaning toward getting an SUV and the ML63 is at the top of my list. WOuld you guys mind posting some pics of your ML63? Also, do any of you drive it in the snow? I know its AWD, but with all that power is it a liability? Anyone have snow tires on theirs? What would you guys say are the Pros and Cons of ownership? Stuff like that so it can hep with my decision.
Thanks
Thanks

I think there are no posts because every question you have asked can be done with a search. There are tons of pics on here, 2 or 3 threads on snow tires and multiple threads regarding people's experiences with their own ML63. Just saying.

I have the ML63 and I can tell you from this past weekend in Vermont, it is NOT a snow worthy car unless you put some Pirelli or Yokohama snow tires on the car. Fat 20" tires along with a ton of torque makes a lousy combination in slippery conditions. Snow in vermont was about 2-4 inches and while the car does hold a very straight line during breaking, I tended to skid for far too long (comparing this to my old MB GL).
Just put Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow tires on this week and going back up this weekend, so will let you know if that makes a difference.

Hey.
I own a ML63 I had 295/40/20 all the way around last year and it was great in the snow. But it got stolen outta my garage so now im running 295/35/21.
So yes all around the ML63 is worth it better interior and exterior then the BMW X5 and X6

Well I own a ML63 as well and have nothing but good things to say about it with the only exception being fuel consumption. But that’s to be expected.
Having owned a ML320 and then a ML500 I can easily say the ML63 is a completely different vehicle in terms of ride comfort, feel and power.
The AWD works wonderful on our snow covered streets with the traction control easily keeping the power under control. Presently I have Pirelli Scorpion’s on the vehicle which is great in summer but lacking grip on snow and ice. Although it’s certainly very drivable in winter conditions with these tires I would not consider going through deep snow covered parking lots as you will get stuck fast. The stock 20 inch tires are fairly wide and pushing through deep snow is a problem.
This is a very unique vehicle which I purchased for the winter, storing my SLK350 and I find myself enjoying it more than the two seat roadster.
In my opinion you need not concern yourself with power creating dangerous situations so long as you keep the safety features activated and if supreme traction is a must then winter tires will only add to your drive.

We got 3-5 months of winter up in Finland, no problems whatsoever. Drives around fine with even the esp-stuff turned off (dyno mode)

I fully agree. I bought this car last summer (switched from an M5), and i am very glad i did. Works just great in all conditions.
