Many Problems with my ML63 AMG
I bought a 2010 ML63 AMG and loved it until the problems started. First it was the oil light kept coming on, 5 times I brought it in and each time they said it was nothing. The 6th time I ignored it for over a week and the engine died on me while I was driving. Brought it back in and they said the computer never registered the problem. Then the ESP stopped working and I couldn't drive over 15mph, took it in and they kept it for almost a week just to tell me they cleaned a sensor and it's fine. I can't trust this car, it sucks because when you pay this much for a car you expect to be able to go on a road trip without being in fear of what will go wrong next! Has anyone else has similar problems?

Save for a faulty oil temp sensor (would fluctuate 3 to 5 degreesF) my car has been relatively trouble free

RR Evoque Dynamic, Benz Valente (work hack)
The more I thrash it, the more reliable it is.
If u baby it, you'll get carbon build up. Always leave it in S mode.
Mines an 07 so I guess some problems may have been ironed out.
Bought it 2nd hand

My ML63amg shut down on the highway
KJve, ive had a similar problem too. My 2010 ML63 shut down on me too on the M1 motorway in Brisbane. It came up with an error message saying ESP off, check your owners manual!
I took it in to MB Brisbane and they replaced the battery and some speed sensors!
Hopefully that has fixed it but it was a scary experience!!!

I have been getting random ESP light flashing lately. Happens on calm straights so I know its not valid. I never gave it much thought because it would flash once and then go away but this morning it continuously flashed and I lost power as well. Turned the ESP switch off for a while then back on and seemed to correct the issue. It didn't come back on this morning. Wondering when it will rear its ugly head again so trying to find solutions before then. Did replacing speed sensors cure it? How hard of a DIY would that be?? Any other insights? Thanks

Mine is 07 and bulletproof. I track it regularly and push it to the absolute limits. You have to run the **** out these 63 motors at least once a month to keep them runni clean. Seafoam twice a year in the gas tank also helps keep carbon buildup to a minimum.
The motors can burn oil a little but, just top off with half quart of Mobil 1 and it should go away.

So never had any issues with speed sensors or ESP coming on randomly? I'm assuming you keep ESP off as much as possible? I have some pretty badly worn tires and need an alignment so could be throwing off something? We'll see after I throw on some new rubber.

It happened to me again right away today. Wasn't more than 5 minutes into my commute and the ESP light starts flashing and cutting power. I hope somebody can chime in on what could be causing it. Once I hit the ESP off it runs fine. Just got it back from the dealer so not thrilled at having to take it back in for this. Have only had the truck for 1.5 weeks!

If your tires are really mismatched it's possible it could be setting off ESP. Get a full new set of 295/40/20 continental DWS tires and if that does not solve the problem it's probably just a faulty wheel sensor (part itself is cheap, just some labor costs).

No I never keep ESP off, it's always on (even on track sometimes, although sometimes I turn it off).

I got 4 new Conti DWS on there now and its been great ever since! Sounds quiet and drives so much nicer, smoother now.

Hello all.
Same problem, randomly have ESP light on dashboard with no gas response..., only during one or two seconds...,
What should i look to? ABS wheels sensor ( because are the same for the ESP, aren`t they?? ).
Thank u!

08 ML350 / 08 ML63
I purchased a 08 ml63 with 43000 miles. It turns out that i'm the third owner but the car runs awesome.I had a few issues such as idler pulley letting go and leaving me stranded. That was soon after I had the car in for the problem but the dealer couldn't find it.He no longer services my car.I also had an issue with my rear entertainment system and that all had to be replaced.
I had a 2008 ml350 that I purchased brand new that had more problems.I had problems with my esp but it was related to my tail lights leaking and letting water seep in where the rear computer was.
