ML63 (all AMGs in general) and squeaking brakes?

I have an '08 ML63 and my brakes recently started squealing very noticeably. I have approx 50% brakes remaining. I took it in just to see if there was anything that could be done about and essentially I was just told to "deal with it." My service tech just told me it is very common among AMGs and that squeaky brakes is just part of the package.

I really don't want to believe this...to drive such a beautiful vehicle and pull up to a light with squeaking brakes just sucks it right out of you :/ If, unfortunately, squeaky brakes are a relatively common issue (especially among older AMGs), is there ANYTHING that can alleviate some of the noise???

Thanks in advance!!

Brake Issue

I have had the same problem for three years. I have them check the pads everytime I'm in (usually monthly). I've been told this is a common issue with cross drilled, large, powerful brakes...whether MB, Audi, BMW...all of the large, luxury SUVs.

Mine sort of comes and goes, though I don't notice it after a wash for a day or two.

What's amazing to me is that I've put 36,000 miles on the ML, and haven't had to replace the brakes yet.

squeaks

Find someplace safe and run the speed up as high as you dare and nail the brakes really hard to a full stop. Repeat as necessary. This seems to keep mine quiet. Plus you get to see how great the ABS and brakes on these ML63's are. I have 60k miles on an 07 and any squeaking I get is very minor. This process seems to solve the squeaks when they come up for me. These are performance brakes and are much for capable than most of us use them for. They need to work a little harder it seems to me.

I have Brembo Big Brake kit on my ML^# and i have had zero squeaks vs stock brakes which squeaked a bit. i am not sure what the pad difference is stock vs Brembo kit but all my AMGs brakes squeak from time to time, except the ML

Thanks, I'll give this a try...I've seen a few posts on this. Here's to hoping it helps a little.

Maverick - I'll admit this is because I don't have time to look up prices on the Brembo kit, so apologies for laziness here, but how much did that run? I'm approaching replacing brakes in the foreseeable future, so if I have to....may as well go "big"

Mine squeak like crazy on my ML55. Very annoying, but they have much life left. I am going to fix this in the spring. My CLK55 has no sqeaks and no dust, but has these pads.

brakeworld.com - Disc Itailia Hyper Ceramic Brake pads.

Worth every penny. That set is going on my ML for sure. Unfortunately, I do not see pads for the 63.

You can drove for 500 miles and still have no brake dust.

Has any ML63 owners ever replaced their brake rotors yet. To my knowledge they are monstrous size of 390x36mm for the front and 365x26 for the rear.

Anyone has replaced their rotors can you please share your experience and their costs.

Thanks
