My 2000 ML55 started stalling at start up. After it stalls i pull the out the fuse for the fuel pump, put it right back in and it starts right back up and runs. Fuse was new but now is getting brown and worn. Recently it stalled while driving. any suggestions??

Clogged fuel filter putting a big load on your fuel pump and/or a dying fuel pump. Swapping fuel pumps is one job you would prefer to schedule.

How old is car, how many miles? Last time you checked/changed your fuel filter?

Im going to guess since its a 2000, its 12 years old.

I agree, most likely a fuel pump.

I just had my fuel pump (ML55) changed the other day. The suv damn near stopped on the fwy, was very dangerous.

thanks for the response....i just purchased the car. it has 79000 on it so im assuming it hasnt had the fuel pump changed. THe good thing is the check engine light came on so hopefully it narrows it down. I was thinking it was the crank shaft sensor or fuel pump, taking it in this weekend

$700 installled. ($350 of that was for the new fuel pump). Also included an exterior detail.

i had the fuel pump replaced and it solved the issue
