DELIVERY ML63!! few ?s
#2 a few questions and concerns
1. Back-up sensors?? Any way to get them to beep rather than just be visual?
2. Anyone else disappointed with all the plastic in the dash?? Have this beautiful black lacquer on the sides of the dash and sharp black leather with white contrast stitching onnthe top and then all this crappy plastic in the center, armrest and around every button -- even more importantly anyone make any gorgeous after market mods to "rectify" this problem??
3. The door pins are just a sacrilidge. MB should be ashamed of themselves in a $110k+ vehicle they have installed cheap plastic door pins. Even more infuriating I just gt out of my friends 2012 e350 and hers came stock with brushed steel door pins.
That's all I got, here are some pics of the new beast any and all suggestions for interior and exterior mods are welcome!!!

Maybe in regards to all the plastic around the buttons on the dash- you can get it done in real CF? Or have it painted gloss black to match your trim?

I guess the biggest culprits for you would be the radio button surround, and climate control surround. A more secondary piece would also be the Command knob surround.
Hopefully those pieces can be easily separated from the buttons.
If I were you I'd just paint it gloss black to match your Designo Piano Lacquer trim. But if you want to change from the Designo Piano Lacquer, I'd do the whole interior in CF.
Yeah the pins make a nice difference. Make sure you order the correct ones as there's two part numbers. One part number is for screw on while the other is for a push in version. Some MBs (mostly sedans from my recollection) have screw on front doors with push in rear doors. However in my R Class it was screw on on all fours. So it may be the same case for the ML.
Screw on part number: 000-766-02-28

But I agree, just replacing basically the whole center console with a gloss black to match the piano would be a drastic improvement -- the really big one I'm looking at is replacing the bruched aluminum leading edge of the fron and rear air dams with full carbon -- though i think the number to do tht could get scary

The cost is ~$100 a piece but may be more depending how complex the shapes are. IMO not too bad for something really unique and good quality.

The US door pins are rather off looking but the centre dash plastic didn't really bother me in the ML350 I drove for about a month. Did you get the ambient light system? It's LED interior night time lighting is amazing!
Thanks for posting pics. I've also chosen black!

Congratulations! You have waited a long time for this. Your new ride looks great!
Kind regards
my '12 cls63 had the same cheap door pins, and they RATTLED like crazy!!! when going over certain rough road surfaces.
it absolutely blew me away, that they charge this much for a car that supposed to be "the best or nothing" and then to see this kind of crappy build quality. i actually felt insulted.

Do you know if the alcantera sport AMG steering wheel is manditory with the perf package ? I prefer a wood wheel.
