New ML63 AMG '08 adquisition & Noise question
Hi all.
First of all, sorry for my english.., and with this post i present myself as a new owner of an '08 ML63 amg with 25000 kms aprox.., and after rode it for about two days, i`ve noticed that under 100% heavy acceleration, a noise come from the transmision or maybe differential (i think so...) i'm not sure if this is normal, or maybe something is wrong
...., it reminds me the sound of a Rally car that have proffesional gearbox...
It only happens under full hard acceleration in first, second and maybe third gear but only in high rpm's, not from the very start.... in confort or sport mode.
Please give me your opinion, etc...

Hope this helps..., but the sound doesn`t have good quality.
The noise only appears under hard acceleration, 1, 2, maybe 3 gear, and only when the rpm's reaches 4000 aprox...
Because of this i think it could be a pulley, maybe the alternator??.
Do you agree??, if the transmision or diff were the origin, the noise should appears all the time, not only with full gas and also in the entire range of rpm`s..., isn´t it??

My 07 sometimes has a loud "thud" in the rear suspension diff area when I accelerate hard or from a transition between deceleration and hard acceleration. I don't get where its coming from either.

Hi all.
Finally, Mercedes local agency told me that this sound was normal on ML`s and G`s models..., But i didn`t feel confidence with that explanation.., so went for a second diagnose in a independent agency and after a maintenance proccedures in the transmission ( oil and filter change, and clean up the system..) the noise almost went out.., not completely, but i think the noise now is normal asociated with this transmission.

Mercedes claim lifetime on their transmission oils. But thats rubbish.
I have changed the transmission oil & filter and fluids in the diffs. Just preventative maintenance.
Never (knock wood), had a problem.
