Does this mean they only work with the navigation units made from 2000 - 2005, roughly?

 

roughly that is correct... the newer systems use the DVD.

Does this work for a 2004 e55?

 

I think 2004 E class uses DVD, not CD. You can check this by taking out the CD/DVD from your Nav - you will find part number/description on the CD.

i have a 2003 s 430 4matic i need the cd for lower michigan i assume this will work. please advise
