READ ALL OF THIS BEFORE POSTING!

I'm in the process of moving and came across this project from my C-Class (W203 C230, MY 2006). My memory of exactly where I was with this is now slipping, but I'll describe what I'm selling to the best of my ability. This is a COMAND MCS (USA Spec) DVD-based Navigation headunit (2006-07 C-Class original fitment). This particular unit I believe had an issue with utilizing the navigation disc to show maps/provide routes. Granted, I was using a "burnt" (DVD-R) disc that it was apparently having difficulty using, so I'm not 100% sure what the matter was with it. I figured the DVD drive must have had issue, so I bought another used one and tried the same disc with no success either (it would just freeze and sit still when I clicked the "NAV" button, if I recall correctly). All other functions worked fine - AM/FM, CD, Changer input, AUX, etc. The front of the unit is in OK cosmetic condition with I believe just a little wear from a fingertip around the volume knob. The screen itself is bright, clear, and has no noticeable blemishes that I can find. In the C-class I used it in, it sounded noticeably better than the stock radio (this C-Class was non-HK, FYI).

So, here's what you're getting:
- The headunit including the CD portion. (A 203 870 4189)
- TWO DVD navigation drives/processors (these attach to the top of the headunit/CD portion and lock-on to complete the Navigation unit as a whole. (one is A 164 820 0089 - can't see the other as it's sticker is face down attached to the unit)
- A navigation antenna (aftermarket, several feet of cable).

I don't have any navigation discs to include with this aside from the burnt disc I was trying and eventually just through away. I sold my C-class several months ago and haven't touched this since then (it was an active project at the time, but once I sold the car, it has since sat on a shelf).

To conclude, I honestly don't know the functioning condition of the DVD portions of this unit. I bought it in good, used condition for my C-class but was never able to get it to work with my disc. Perhaps that was the problem? At this point, I'll never know I guess. I have no reason to suspect any damage has been done to any part of the unit based on it's appearance. I have no means of diagnosing it further and even if I did, I wouldn't have the time to do it. I'm not wanting to get a killing for this unit as I don't know if the navigation ability of it is indeed functioning or not, so please, do NOT expect it to! I'm not asking a price for this unit as I don't have any idea what I'd post on it, so make an offer if you're interested in taking on the project where I left off.


*ALSO: I have nine (9) Mahle Oil Filters left over from the '06 C230 that I'll include for free if the purchaser or this would like them. I believe they are part number "OX 153/7 D". I bought them as a pack of ten and only used one, but it worked very well. They are the fleece type. Check to see if your vehicle uses them if you'd like them as well.

Thanks for the interest, guys. I've received several PMs in addition to the interest here and wanted to mention a few things to answer some common questions.

- I will take some pics today and post them - my apologies for the delay.

- I will not be separating any of these components/items ( including the oil filters - they're not for sale, just a freebie).

- I can NOT confirm the either of the DVD drives work 100%!!! I have NOT had success with getting the Navigation to work - I don't know if it was because of the junky burnt disc I was using or some other factor. I have no idea, and no vehicle with which to diagnose this any further anymore. PLEASE, bear this in mind!

- Lastly, concerning price, I didn't post one because I can't establish the functionality of the DVD components anymore - only what functions of the HU that I can confirm from using it back in the day. If you're interested, post an offer here. You are buying all parts or none at all. I just want this all gone before I move! Any reasonable price is fine!

First time poster...will the A 164 820 17 79 work in my ML350? Mine is A 164 870 36 89. I am not sure how these numbers line up. Only thing that doesn't work is my screen. Everything else works. If anyone can help me here I would appreciate it.
