Radar Help

Hey, I need a little help in determining what this is and what I need to buy to make it work please. (I hope I posted this in the right area)
I bought a 2010 E63 about two weeks ago from a dealer and it came with these two things in the pictures below.

This is installed in the center dash, just above the A/C controls.

This is sticking out of the drivers side sun visor.

I cannot find any wires or previous mounting holes in the front of rear bumpers of the car either. I cannot make the control thing in the center dash come on anyway I try either.
I did stop by a Passport dealer the other day and they were not much help. I did get them to plug up a Passport 8500 X50 using the wiring coming out of the sun visor and the lights came on on the center control head. But they could not tell me if it was working correctly or anything else.
I also have a cigarette plug with a similar phone jack looking plug that came in the glove box to use for something too.
So my questions are:
What model does this thing look like it goes to?
Is it a windshield mount detector I should be looking for or an installed one?
What does all the plugs and center head thing go to or do?

Thanks for the help.

It's a windshield mount detector. That's the generic hardwire / interface kit. You can pretty much use any detector with it. The cigarette power plug is just extra. You won't need it since yours is already hardwired.

Thanks. I was wondering why the previous owner had the actual radar mounted up high but also wanted something installed on the dash. It just did not seem to make sense to me.
Now to find a good radar!

The High end escort radars all rated extremely good i have an escort 9500i that i purchased back in 2007 and its still considered one of the best radars on the market also escort offers the option that i can send my 9500i into them and for $129 they will upgrade it to the 9500ix which is rated practically the best winshield mounted radars made. CHeck out escorts website they offer a few different models of the 9500ix just different outter shells and display colors (9500i is red 9500ix blue) and i believe the redline model is the other top of the line the other windshield mounted radar they offer. The features are great its saved me from getting so many tickets up to date i cant even believe it. They are kinda pricey starting at around $499 i belive but for me its paid for itself within the first few months i purchased it 5 years ago. If your looking for a radar check out the escort website. Hope this helps.

Valentine rules. IOS apps supplement it.

Tells you where and how many.

I still have my original escort and that was #1, designed by Valentine.

He broke away but still rules with his new company.

Your pictures are of an Escort/Beltronics smart wire hardwire kit. You can use almost any modern Escort or Beltronics windshield mount radar detector with it. The button on the first picture is a mute button for the radar detector.
