The ULTIMATE way to decide on HARMON vs. STOCK speakers
1) go to dealer and get the HARMON/KARDON DEMO CD. (Comes with each NEW HK system. Dealer will have a stack of 'em somewhere)
2) Sit in HK equipped ride and listen to tracks 1, 4, 10, 18 and 20 from start to finish.
3) Sit in stock equipped ride and repeat tracks.
If your heart doesn't beat faster and your wallet get a little looser ... idk what to say.
Truly heart-touching and worth every dime, nickel and penny!

Having the opportunity to display my ML's HK system to a leading industry professional ( I consider mixing the Grammy awards show enuff credentials) as well as the bass player from Bob Marley & Wailers.. Stir it Up, to glowing approval, & to be confirmation of the love I have for this system.

I listened to the different systems with music from my iphone. The difference was day and night. After hearing the HK system my wife looked at me and we just know we had to have it.

The disk supplied by HK will make the stereo impressive. It is meant too as a sales tool.
I think you should bring in a CD or smartphone or whatever and play it on each stereo to see if you really notice a differnence to upgrade, if anything is noticed at all. I doubt most buyers will care or even notice if testing this way.
For me, it was a must have option without any testing. I just want it.

I wonder how much better it can be though, as the Harman Kardon system is absolutely mindblowing.
A great track to try out between the standard system and the HK system is Pink Floyd's Great Gig In The Sky. If that doesn't blow the listener's mind on the HK more than the standard then perhaps the HK is a waste of money for them.

Wow, that's the most expensive stand alone option on the ML then. Even if I knew about it before, I don't think I can fork that much just for an audio system. For that much money, it should sound like Katy Perry is right next to me and sweating on me.

From what I understand, the ONLY situation that the ML will come with run flats will be if you order it with the B&O sound system.

Are you sure - sw is only 8" - how would it be vented?

Question for you guys/gals, what sound setting do you use to listen to CDs or Mp3, straight stereo or the surround setting? I tried the surround for HD FM (Dealer set it that way), and it was VERY tinny, not good at all. Changed to stereo and am very happy. Have not gone back and tried the surround with a CD. Thanks
