I am Ronny Geenen living in SoCal. I always have driven an MB and had a 560 SEC for 27 years. I am now 83 years and due to back and hip problems, I bought a glk 350 for easy in and out.
I am the second owner since 2016 of a 2011 glk 350.
Wel, maybe you will tell me how I can place an forum question in regard to my glk350.
That means I have to start a new thread. I am not that good with forums.
Maybe because I am 83 years.
Thank you, Ronny
Have been a member of the SEC member forum. I am also a member of a Photography forum and forums about world war 2 forums.
But I really do not understand this forums with all kind of rules. Maybe somebody can and will explain it to me.
I am only interested in reading about the MB and have some questions about the glk. Especially about the audio system.
Greetings, Ronny (IndoRon)

I noticed that this forum has different rules, but I will try to answer your stories. You see, I was born in 1936 in a former Dutch colony, the Dutch East Indies, today called Indonesia. My ancestors are Dutch, French, Portuguese and Indonesian.I spent 3 1/2 years in a japanese concentration camp. My father was tortured for about 8 month and died in 1948. My mother and her 4 children nearly survived the war. I lost 23 family members. My wife came as an orphan to the Netherlands. Her family members were all murdered. After the war another war started. Indonesia wanted to be independent and tried to kill all the people with European blood. Then we got kicked out of the country and shipped to the Netherlands. In the Netherlands I became a mechanical ships engineer and spent 10 years on the big super oil tankers.
An American company in SoCal was in need of my engineering background and we both left Europe in 1981.
My first car in the US was a used Mercedes SLC. My second a 300SD 5 cyl. diesel. Great car. Bought it used and 3 years old and had it for 25 years. Than I found a beauty a 560SEC and had it for 27 years. Because of my age and medical back and hip problems, I bought myself a used Mercedes suv glk 350 with the amg options. Had it for over 3 years with totally no problems. I will not drive a jap car. If you want to know more of my history: https://MyIndoWorld.com
But I do not see the need for AWD for a luxury car.
After washing it when we got home I decided to remove the GLA 250 badge from the tailgate and am glad I did. I think it makes the rear end look more elegant and balanced. Made me so happy I sat down at my computer and ordered about $400 worth of new floor mats and other small accessories.
