Hi all,
first time MB owner and replacing oil filter housing heat exchanger gasket on W204 C250 CGI. That bits all going ok but had to remove intake manifold swirl flap actuator to get stuff out and neglected to see where the default home position is for the flaps. Can someone please tell me if the flaps are home closed or open?
Got my 2012 c300 4matic few months now. First car I ever got from a dealer, "carvana". I'm loving it. Got used to it kinda fast though. Slowly blacking out the crome. Gonna treat her a little bit at a time till I'm ready for the last step... AMG.
Started my driving life with a 1995 c220, 1998 c230 (white with a dark purple interior. 2005 c300 4matic.
Wrapped, (learning to get better at it), the bottom door chrome, the DRL lens and the chrome peice around them. The chrome bar on the trunk. Might get matte interior headlights with some chrome still showing, and tail lights instead of wrapping them.
I have the permit for the lights.
Very nice. I've had my 13' C300 4matic Sport since January 2021 and I love it. I've done few things to it. Nothing major.
New MB member here (W211 2003 E500) Battery Draining issue
G'day, My name is Marko and I am from Perth in Western Australia. Thank you for letting me be a part of the MBWorld forum. I purchased a 2003 Mercedes E500 ( W211). I have noticed in the past 3 months my airmatic suspension from the back wheels of the driver's side and passenger's side is very low when it is parked and not being used. Sometimes it stays up and sometimes it goes down when parked and the engine is not running. I get the warning saying my vehicle is too low, so I wait for approximately 30 seconds and it goes away and the airmatic suspension pumps it back up. It doesn't happen all the time but sometimes. I will get around to changing both airmatic suspensions but I come across another issue.
My main battery went completely flat as I didn't drive the car for 4 days, So I changed the main battery. after 2 days of not driving the car, the battery went flat again. I only noticed that I also have an auxiliary battery in the front which I went to battery world and they said it needed replacing. If I start my car every day, I have no issues. As soon as I don't drive for 24 hours, I get an error saying 'battery protection convenience not available' on the cluster which goes away after driving my car for a while which I believe charged up the auxiliary battery.
My main issue is what is draining my main battery? could it be the airmatic suspension keeping the car afloat when not running be draining both my batteries? Could it be a faulty battery module control? or possibly the compresser is pumping the airmatic suspension? or does the compressor use the auxiliary battery?
any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am going to purchase a new auxiliary battery and buy 2 sets of airmatic suspension kit.
Welcome to the forum Benzfarken.
Well, when the auxiliary battery is bad, it is going to drain the main battery. The auxiliary battery is the one responsible for maintaining the memory of the comfort module (mirrors, seats, climate control, transmission preferences, etc.). When replacing it, you should leave the drivers door open to maintain this memory for at least 2-3 hours, even if your main battery is disconnected.
About the airmatic, it seems that you have a problem with the control valve, but is better to test al the system with a Star Diagnosis scanner.

machadosl Thank you very much for replying so quickly. I had a feeling the Auxiliary battery was an issue and played some part in draining the main battery.
I will go to a mechanic that specializes in European cars and have a test with a Star Diagnoses scanner. I am hoping its something minor so i dont have to spend too much money on replacing both struts. Although it has never been replaced and the car is coming close to 20 years of age
Came for engine vacuum diagrams, didnt find. Might stay for company
Full overhaul of car, kinda got lazy with the bolts and smaller bits but plan is to make myself a car for long time. Getting the underside properly rust-free and a T H I C K coat of tar undercoat took awhile to make the car last in the salt winter roads.
I have now changed the Auxiliary battery and the main battery, all brand new. I leave my car overnight in the garage for 12 to 24 hours and cannot start the car. Completely dead, I cannot even turn the ignition with the key. Something is draining the battery or could i have a fault in the Battery Control Module?
