CLK430
Greetings!

Hi All. 2002 CLK 430 owner here (91K miles). Bought the car about a year ago, and finally decided to sell it. It's a fantastic car. Just realize it doesn't fit my lifestyle, really. And I spend way too much energy keeping it covered and protected between drives. About 2K miles in a year.

That said, MB world has been a terrific resource for me doing several repairs along the way in my early ownership. The knowledge and experience here is deep.
So far I haven't seen where my input would benefit anyone. So, I just enjoy reading and learning.
Thanks!

PS: If I get permission (?) I'll sell a 2" steering extension I had made. And a Planted Seat Mount I have for the Recaro I bought for the car. Keeping the seat, but the other stuff won't be needed.

Hi everyone, I'm so excited to be here and learn from you all. Just got my first ever Mercedes. I had a Infiniti G37s Coupe for the last 12 years. It was a nice/fun car but now looking forward to the next 10 years with my C43. Will start to search this forum for what the best tuning chips are? best intake to buy? best bang for your buck mod(s)? So much to learn! It's a privilege to be a part of this forum.

bro... slide down to Weistec & grab that tune! I did for my wife's GLE43 & NOW SHE'S PUTTING OUT 440HP/520TQ!!! You got the same powertrain setup but less weight... you'll love it! No top speed limiter, no torque limiter, better gas milage, you can hear the turbos more & the exhaust is louder! FUN FUN FUN!!!

MB C207 E200 2013 1st Gen. Facelift Special Factory Order
The Best or Nothing

Dear readers,

We are here to delve into all the knowledge regarding the c207 Facelift model, and perhaps some specific topics. Furthermore we own a very unique Factory Build custom C207 that has never roamed the internet, and the Forum might be the most valued place among enthusiasts to share.

Photos will follow!!!! ( End of this month, we receive the car back after complete servicing, and after its detailing it should be more than worthy to post some photos).

But to unveil the curtain for now a tad bit, it’s a E200 C207 from 2013 one of the first production facelift models, in Iridium Silver Metallic. The car is almost fully equipped in options, no sunroof, will elaborate on options in the near future.

Its most unique custom option is the following:
The car is Factory built with an Full AMG bi-color leather interior in Black with Grey inserts, heated bucket seats with AMG crests in all seats front and back, full AMG seating and interior panelling from the C63 AMG Black Series Coupe C205.

As far as my internet knowledge and searches throughout the year I have never seen one like it or with similar interior/options, some folks might confuse it for a so called “Prime Edition” but it’s not the case with this specific vehicle although being it one of the first facelift produced.

By the time I have some photos uploaded, I would love to hear your opinions and perhaps knowledge of one similar vehicle with this particular interior option.

I personally know the full history of this vehicle, but being very careful on the interwebs sharing too much personal information, all I can say is that this C207 came to built after almost 50 years being Mercedes customer having purchased over a dozen new vehicles trough out the decades.

Thank you for reading, and looking very much forward towards possible enthusiast dialogues!

With kind regards.
Mr & Mrs C207

New to the site.

My name is Joe Reed. I don’t own a Mercedes-Benz but may soon be in the market for one. I joined the site to gather information. I like the year models 1972 through the early 1980s (coupes). I’d like to know if there are better year models than others, ones to avoid, common problems, etc. Thanks in advance for your advice! Joe.

2003 SL500 R230
New Member

Hi all,

A quick note to introduce myself.

I'm based in Glasgow and have recently taken on a 'troubled' 2003 SL500 r230 that was one step away from the parts bin but, as it's in a rather nice Topaz Blue I had to try and save it!!
I was looking for a car with some 'known issues' as my aim was to take on a project rather than drive - for now at least

So I've been tackling all the familiar (and some less familiar) issues - with some success.

First things first...... a great big THANKS to all of you that post replies, guidance or generate YT content about how to troubleshoot, maintain and fix these cars - this is and INVALUALBE resource that I'd have been lost without.

I won't set out any detail on the work I've done so far as there are many, better-written threads out there, but for info here's a list.
If anyone DOES want more info on how I tackled any of these issues so far then just give me a shout!

- Car convinced boot always open - fixed by replacing boot soft close actuator which was not triggering microswitch EVEN after leak fixes.
- Roof now STARTS to open - boot opens slightly - but stops there for some other reasons yet to be identified
- Dead central locking - fixed by refurbishing the PSE myself AND fixing some leaks in the door vacuum units - done!
- Dead power windows - fixed by replacing one door controller, resynching and realising that the window 'drop' won't work until the metal door trims are on
- Dead braking system - SBC pump refurbished and replaced - waiting for STAR software so I can convince car that everything is ok
- Oil leaks fixed around cam covers with new gaskets
- New headlight after discovering some 'hidden' accident damage to plastic mountings that just could NOT be fixed

Loads of other things yet to be discovered before we're back on the road:
- Minor exhaust leak from straight connectors
- ABC fluid change and test of pressure vessels (think they are ok)
- Suspension bush refresh
etc
etc

Anyway........thanks for welcoming me onboard and thanks in anticipation of your continued support

Welcome to the club! Looks like your project has kept you busy. All those items above would be welcome in the R230 forum if you could possibly copy and paste them over there. Thanks for bothering to type up the info. All the best 😀

Hey this is Elliott from Georgia. I currently have a 2022 CLA 250 but I plan on trading it in for a 2021 C43 coupe. Plan on putting custom Enkei wheels on it and a satin grey wrap. Will post pics once it is done.
