Have a fondness for older Benz--owning, driving and maintaining. My first was a 1982 240D Auto Tranny in '89. Still drive it regularly. Since then have acquired several W123s: 1982 240D Manual Tranny; 1983 240D with 3 litre engine, properly suspended and with a WVO system; 1984 280e Euro; 1983 280e (US) parts car; a W124: 1991 300e 3.0 litre that had been inactive for 6 years, currently bringing it back; and a R107 450SL out of a barn with 40,600 on odometer, proof that it has only been driven 3k in last 12 years, and it is next on the stands to be brought back.
I have other makes that I play with: 1986 Mustang Convert; 1964 El Camino with 396; and 1988 Chev C1500 long bed.
Would mention more (houses, boats, cars, etc.), but you would probably think I'm an addict.
Really love learning about, talking about, and restoring MBs to their natural state.

Signed up today with a world of questions on my 06 CLS500 and a few from my R320 cdi. I started driving these darlings back in the early 2000's with a pair of E classes and have been all over the map ever since.
welcome aboard lou... :
pls post questions you may have on C219 and W251 forums...
Hello MB World, Got my first Benz a month ago a W202029 C280 sedan elegance It had 177430 km on odometer when I picked it up, Was a Mercedes Benz Australia car for the first part of it,s life. I has a few things that need attention. 1. Hood lining needs removal and reglueing or new material stuck on. 2, May need the water deflectors behind the rear door trims repaired as after rain or washing the car as it appears to get water dripping out of the bottom of the door trim. But all in all it a great car to drive and is still better than most new cars from other makes. I will post some photos later. Regards Torn65
Hi. My name is Ayub from South Africa. I purchased a Clk63 late last year and enjoying the bone jarring experience. Wife also has a A180cdi Loving the thrifty fuel consumption. Been an MB owner since 1998 and am sure can help and get help on this great forum. Thank you for the welcome.
Nice to meet you. This is my first post. My wife and I just puchased a used 2013 C63 AMG (approx 20,000mi) This car is unbelievable. I will get some pictures up ASAP, but it is pretty much just a stock 2013, so nothing crazy.
We live in Germany and get to fully use the Autobahn in all of its splendor
The AMG was a 25 year wedding anniversary/military retirement gift. We saw it on a site, here in Germany, and went and bought it; kind of a "Why not?"
I look forward to learning from you all, and sharing the amazing experiences about these amazing cars.

So I sold my 2013 C63 Coupe and picked up a 2012 C63 Black Series! Couldn't be happier. Power deliver is amazing and the grip is out of this world! Here are a few teasers...
I'm Jazz and I live in Arizona. Last December I picked up a 1995 SL500 convertible. It has relatively high mileage on it 124K miles but it drives like a dream.
Only prob was the top was inoperable. I researched all the forums and found Klaus everywhere! He's so awesome. I was too shy to join at first but I finally wanted to share my experience in getting my top to work so I did, tonight.
I have another older model car too and so I have two now to play with and fix up. Since I do not have unlimited funds to do my fixing up these forums are absolutely wonderful!
It's just incredible how the members help one another.

At 78, that's about all there is.
Hi! I know just what you mean about loving the older model cars. But I confess to being an SL addict. There is nothing like the feeling of an SL roadster under your hands. Nothing in this world.
Love your attitude! It will keep you young forever!

I started researching brakes on the Web and so much bounced back to MB world. Nice to have a place where you can get good advice.
Have a 2010 C63 Performance Package and am in need of breaks and rotors.
am going to keep car for another 8 months and order new E63. I found 2 piece rotors other than the dealer that are "bolt on" as an option and a lot less money. Even better has anyone put 1 piece cross drilled slotted on instead and been successful and happy with the result. Want the car to still perform ( I don't track or race it)
Like most you always want a new car but every time I start my 63 it reminds me why I bought it.
welcome to the forum...
for rotors, RacingBrake or Girodisc?
for pads, akebono should be enough for daily use...

I am abhi and I have had my 2012 E550 coupe (28k miles) for a couple of months - my first ever Mercedes! Graduated from 91 Mr2 (my first car in states in 2002) to Audi A4 (what was I thinking!) to G35 and now the Merc.
To sum it up - I am in love again
This is a great forum - glad to finally register.
Btw - I drag raced a Jag XK and handed to him. Too bad he is a colleague and cannot look me in the eye now. Made my day!
