New c63 amg owner 2016
My name is Robert I'm from Sacramento CA. Nice to meet everyone and to be here. So 5 days ago I spent $127,000.00 on my first dream car, 2016 c-63 s AMG, So far I'm loving the car. It's a complete animal on the streets, and so far ahead of its time with technology. I guess my only worry is the traction on launch, and through 2nd, and 3rd gear. I got the Dunlops 245/35r19 front - 265/35r19 rear, for stock rubber. I plan on fully building this out to 700+ whp but don't want to Change the rim, as my wife specifically ordered them on the car. So my question is can I run wider tires, and if so how wide and big, but still keeping everything overall stock diameter? I don't want to throw off speedo, or calibration with the ESP. Also what tire would you guys run for optimal traction? Weather and life span isn't a concern.
What brand/company would you recommend as far as aftermarket parts, installation, and tuning. This is my very first MB I'll be building.
Thanks again look forward to hearing tips and joining the team!!!

As for aftermarket parts, are you looking for more power mods, suspension, or aesthetics? In Sactown, check out Elite Auto for bodywork and bolt ons (ask for Andy), IPB Autosport for performance (ask for Ron). IPB isn't the cheapest, but they're legit track preppers.

Being in Norcal, you'll probably be fine with running summers all year round unless you plan on taking her to Tahoe or the like. I personally love Michelin Pilot Super Sports or even Nitto Invos.

Welcome to MBWorld and grats on the new w205. Out of curiosity, which Porsche did you have before? We have a Cayenne and has been great so was considering picking up either a Macan or Panamera.

1995 968. I think maybe the problem with the car was the mileage- 125000, and rarity- only about half of the parts are interchangeable with a 944. And perhaps it was just unreliable. after a clutch, flywheel, fuel pump, several electrical issues and then a failed transmission and broken sunroof- I traded it in for a 2014 GTI drivers edition. doesn't handle like the Porsche ( but pretty darn good for a FWD car!!!) , but I like heated seats, DSG, NAV and all the other modern advances. I think if I was to have used my Porsche as a track only car it would have been fine. as a Daily Driver, not so good. Had LOTS of mods including a racing clutch, suspension, Konis, cross drilled rotors, intake, exhaust, ECU upgrade. was fun to drive- best handling car I've ever driven- and with a 3.0 liter 4 cylinder and 250 hp and about perfect 50/50 weight distribution , I could drift it around traffic circles. But not a good car overall. Got lots of looks when I drove it though. the 911 guys always gave me nods and thumbs up

1999 SL500 129 42,000 Original miles
Hi to All and a little help needed
I have a 1999 SL500 with 42,000 Original Miles. I purchased it when it had 12,000 from a good friend. I have had it for 10yrs.. I just moved to El Paso, Texas and had all the Convertible cylinders replaced as a couple were leaking.
I just got it back but, the RED Switch on the Console that locks the Top Stays on and makes noise when I start the Car then it goes off. Mechanic says I can drive it like that. No problem. The mechanic had it for 4weeks saying that the Micro Switch was bad. He is telling me that they can not find one. He has contacted Germany and now has to find a used one to install.
The Top locks but the Red Light Stays on. Can you help me find a Switch to correct this problem????
Thanks Fellow MB Lovers

Hi Chris. Grats on the w204. Let us know if you have any questions. We have an in house w204 and were one of the original w204 group to really take that chassis apart so can help you out if you can't find via search. And let us know if you ever want to replace those dingy eyebrow lights with nice whiter LEDs.

Thanks! I do have a lot of questions already lol. The eyelids have leds in them? I never noticed to be honest, maybe they're out. I thought this one only had the led fogs in the lower portion of the bumper. I bought the car primarily for my wife so I haven't spent much time with it yet. Would you happen to have a link to the new eye lids? It is something I would be interested in. Also, besides going to a Mercedes dealer, is there a way I can find out what all options this car has? Maybe a vin look up database?
As for vin decoder:

My name is Sam, I live in Kansas City but I'm a student in Denver (young for a Benz I know). My grandpa just recently gave me his 2006 S500 4Matic with only 57k miles!!! I've already perused some threads on here about cool things you can do to W220's and if anyone has some things to share that would be awesome! Glad to be here!

Great site with an awesome forum !
Fell in love with AMGs' since my latest 2010 C63 SW and its 487 HP from this fabulous normally aspirated 6.3 liters' V8. It's however time to switch for the latest twinturbos V8 with a brand new 2016 C63S Sedan.
Order has been already placed through my local dealer but delivery wont happen till March 2016, how frustrating !!!! Tried all possible tips&tricks for getting her sooner but didnt work out, gotta wait ):
Talk soon guys

Greetings from Tampa, Florida. I am a recently retired NYC teacher/Auto Repair DYI'er who just purchased a very clean 2004 CLK320 Cabrio. I bought this 45,000 mile Florida car to help my wife and I soak up some of the year-'round sunshine out here. I plan to do much of the maintenance and repairs myself. This should keep me busy and help me adapt to retired life (I don't golf!). It's feels great to be on board!

Hello everyone,
After years of owning Lexus' I bought a palladium silver C300 sport 4matic. I was a little disappointed in the interior but after driving it for about a week now, the drive and comfort fixed any disappointments I had. This is easily the smoothest car i've owned. Look forward to perusing the posts from members and learning about my car. Let the changes begin! First up new shoes!

Hi, Dan here from Norwell, Massachusetts. I've owned a 1978 300D, a1986 SDL, and am currently driving a 1999 SL500. Loved those diesels, but my SL is a dream come true. I was searching for help on replacing H7 headlight bulbs on my wife's 2013 Outback. Finally figured out how to get at the bulbs and replaced them only to realize that they were pointing straight down 5' in front of the car. I saw there was several people on this site with the same problem. Finally figured out there was a notch on the bulb that had to be in the 8:00 position to properly seat them and everything was great. Hopefully they'll see this reply.

C200 doesnt accelerate properly
Thanks for hello and welcome to this site I wanted to take the time to ask a question about my c class c200cdi it momentarily drops power for split second and its down on power doesn't accelerate right but there are no faults when ive plugged it in to the diagnostics if anyone has any suggestions I'd be grateful. Could the injectors b clogged up? Or could it b too much fuel or air ?

Hi I'm Mark. This is my first post on my first forum.
I'm on my third MB. Started with a C320, then E55, and now my new baby, a 2012 E550 Coupe. This will be my first summer only MB. Living in Toronto takes its toll on cars. During the summer I drove the Coupe and worked on my winter vehicle. A military grey, 2014 Jeep unlimited, full 4" Eibach suspension with 35's. If I wasn't so computer spastic, I'd post a picture. Now that the winter is approaching, it's time to make the MB of my dreams. My vision: is a sleeper E550. Please no arguments about what a sleeper is. Bigger AMG rims, with at least a 275 on the back, computer mods, possible exhaust mods. (as long as sound is subtle). Looking forward to talking to people who know their MB's. thanks in advance.

Welcome to MBWorld Mark. I don't envy your weather for sure, but looks like you're in good hands in the winter with promises of a fun filled spring
