1976 W115 200

Hi guys. Recently purchased a 1976 W115 200 MT about 3 weeks ago. Still havent really driven it. Mostly the trips I made were from my house to different repair shops just to have it fixed. The following were the repairs I made:
1. Replaced spark plugs (used platinum) - Am i write in buying platinum or
should I stick to copper?
2. Overhauld carburator
3. Adjust valve clearance
3. Replaced Ignition coil
4. Replaced condenser and contact point
5. Replaced tie rod
6. Replaced steering couping
7. Replaced shifter coupling
8. Replaced left rear axle
9. Replaced clutch release bearing, pressure plate and disk due to
screeching noise when clutch pedal is not pressed. (which because of
wrong diagnosis shouldnt be replaced at all but just the clutch rod).
10. Replaced alternator but later found out that the alternator is OK and there was just a loose wire connection on why the battery is not charging.
On top of these I still have to do the following:
1. Replace differential mount due to clunck noise when accelerating (the replacement of the rear axle did not fix this noise)
2. Replace fuel pump due to oil leak
3. Engine support.
The Bad news is that an mechanic told me that I have a blow-by?? Consulted another MB mechanic. He told me that the white smoke exhaust smoke is only normal. The diagnosis is that the fuel mix is rich which caused the spark plugs to have soots. He adjusted the carburator but there is still white smoke.
I am getting really frustrated now and about to give up. I really need encouragement and support from fellow enthusiasts that I did not made a mistake in following my dream of buying an MB.

w115 ignition
Hello,
My ignition completely froze, so I drilled the heck out of it. The steering is unlocked. I removed the instrument cluster and removed the bolt that holds the assembly in. the assembly now rotates, but won't come out (to be replaced) What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
