2002 ML 55 AMG
1st Merc

Hello MBW,

I finally did it. Scratch that off the bucket list. Always thought it would be a 2 door convertable to **** off the ex - wife but I'm way more mature now.( lol ). So I picked up an 02 ML 55 AMG. WHAT A SWEET RIDE. It's got lots of jam and comfort, needs some TLC but that why I'm here. Low beams aren't working and stereo has no sound. Any input would be outstanding. Billymon

Welcome to MBWorld. Grats on the pickup. Function + Performance, can't go wrong with that.

What's wrong with the low beam? One or two out? Getting error codes?

Seems the new fixture ( came with the Merc, old ones were in the hatchback ) maybe the wrong ones. I ended up taking the headlamp assembly apart and rewiring it according to the output signal on the wiring harness. It works but kinda cheesball. The one thing that I don't understand..... It seems the low beam and park lights I had to wire from the same source. Almost like the low beam doesn't have its own power supply. 6 wires on the harness plug but only 2 are getting a supply and 1 is a common ground.

So, after the first service / oil change.... I have a broken rear coil spring, a broken motor mount, a leaking power steering pump, leaking rear seal, leaking valve covers, and a worn front ball joint. Better than I expected

Best idea for coil springs? New H&R or complete strut? Wish my Canadian dollar was worth more.
