Hi everyone
Hi there, been reading the forum for a few months now as I became an owner of w164 280 '09, 3 months ago or so. My name is Zlatan and I'm from Serbia.
This is my first Merc and the main reason I purchased it was because I really wanted a proper SUV and because I need a big trunk for my dog. 🤷*♂️ There were many newer cars for the same money but after testing many of them, I'm thrilled with the choice I made!
Have a great day everyone,
Zlatan.

This is the smallest engine which was put in w164 from what I understand and to be honest, its ok but i would definitely be way happier with a bit extra power.
I bought it from first owner with full service history and its almost like new - with a few scratches outside from city driving, will post those as well. Its a restyle model and I’m happy with it so far. Rear taillight has two LEDs dead out of, dont even know how many there are - and the new part from official dealership is around 380 euros which is, around $450. A bit high for two leds 🤷🏻*♂️
Here are the only photos I have of my car, dont think I ever cared to take photos of any car I had - please don’t shoot I’ll work on it in future At the moment, I’m about to purchase winter tyres and rather than getting 19” winter tyres, I’m inclined to get 17” so the tyre is a bit narrower and more comfy for the winter. The problem is that the rims in a few shops I’ve been are all ET 30 or so, whereas on my ML these factory 19” are ET60. Is that even a problem? Is it ok to put those on?
Any advice is appreciated,
thanks,
Z.

Thank you!
I decided to leave 19'' rims and go with 255/50 R19 107V XL BLIZZAK LM005.
I'm curious to find out when the snow comes, if the ride will be anywhere near comfortable with all the snow bumps.
Since there is a regular radio installed with 6 CD charger, I'm looking into ordering a new replacement unit.
Other than original Alpina which is $3000 , I've found this LINK
There are several options - click on the far right option for the one I'd get.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
Also, since I'm new here, am I supposed to ask all of this here or in the other section?
Thanks a lot,
Any advice is appreciated,
Z.
The stock radio I want to replace with all touch multimedia
Steering wheel looked a bit worn so I went to the upholsterer who uses the oem MB leather to redoit. It looks great and I added different colour stitching so it matches the rest of the car.
By the way, here are the photos of above mentioned dead LEDs

Thanks for the pics Zlatan. For the radio and the LEDs, try the W164 forum here https://mbworld.org/forums/m-class-w164-72/. There will be someone that’s been there before. Good luck with it.
