Hi all & thanks for having me. I’m on the forums today because I can’t seem to find what’s going on with the system in my Benz. So imma take y’all back to where it all happened.long story short I was making a right turn and my serpentine belt snapped because the tensioner pulley had failed, I got an alert on the computer saying the “battery/alternator visit workshop” so I pulled up a little and put the car in park. Turned it off. I replaced the serpentine belt and tensioner, car has been running fine since. Soon after went and got a oil change, people at valvoline checked the car, people at autozone checked the car, people at advanced auto checked the car. We scanned the car no codes or malfunctions popped up which is weird because I have the red error light. Could it be from a reset or is there something else going on? Haven’t had problems with the car but I seem to feel like I didn’t get everything fixed I’m I missing something? Thanks 2003 MB Benz C240 rwd anyone else had any problems like this?

Hey! Thanks for the response , I bought the car off my Dad I think he purchased from a police auction , he said it was a city vehicle. The vin # is WDBRF61J73A430623. I’ve done little things here and there put in a new aux water pump, new thermostat, flushed and cleaned coolant etc. Probably spark plugs next , not sure who had the car previous to him but for the age I wanna do the best I can to keep it going lol she a beauty Do you think the car needs reset? They said the battery and alternator was fine, could it be a regulator ? Idk. So many questions also this is the red error message and i get it consistently but the Benz definitely drives

Also the oil changes and maintenance have been up to date. Still plan on putting more into the car ! Everything is done the right way with the Haines manual for the vehicle and all oem parts.

Wish it was the battery. I got it tested like I said, they tested the battery and the alternator both are working perfect. No codes showing up with scan tools... anyone else have this problem?

@Prince Drez Don't trust a test. Mercedes vehicles are sensitive to battery condition. Buy a new battery, install it and continue with the diagnostic process.

I will try a new battery with the car see if it helps any. If the warning goes away I’ll let you know. If not I’ll be back on forums lol, I don’t think it’s the battery tho cause when the belt snapped Cause the tensioner failed that light came on, Can I read you the instrument cluster before I decide to grab a mercedes Benz battery?
