KEY FOB ERROR - 2007 W211 -
Hi All,
I have an issue with BOTH key fobs. When I want to unlock in the morning, nothing happens. After driving for a quite a while things get slightly better locking & unlocking but I OFTEN need to pull out my key and open manually. Likewise, locking I need to climb through the back door, central lock and close up. I was told to change the small accessories battery in the engine bay near the coolant (which was due to change) but this didn't help the issue.
If the key DOES actually work, I need to stand about 1 meter away from the sensor and press and hold for a long time and only SOMETIMES this works.
I've seen some whacky solutions on YouTube where you pull apart the sensor and cut and hack but I am not willing to do that.
Any solutions to what seems to be a fairly common problem.

Really appreciate it. Yes, very frustrating. The worst is, it mostly happens when you're standing in front of a lot of people in a busy place embarrassing the crepe out of me and works fine in the privacy of my garage where no one can see LOL Murphy's Law right!
