Hey Folks,
New owner of a sweet 2013 SL63 with P30 Package and only 30K miles. Looking for a little initial advice.
Question 1 (maybe it's three) - Wondering about the optimum settings for all the drive conditions - traction control, stiffness, and sport vs. sport+ vs. race mode (or manual)? For me, it seems the engine revs higher before shifting in sport mode compared to sport+. Also, the system (even in sport+ mode) seems to keep the initial rpm too low so that it takes a second or so from when you push your foot down until the engine ramps up into it's sweet spot.
Also, why adjust traction control from fully on to sport? Does it really make a difference?
Lastly, I assume suspension setting doesn't only effects cornering stiffness and not really a factor in straight line acceleration.
Question 2 - Does anyone have a good recommendation on a chip tuner and what benefit you might actually get? I have the P30 package which I understand is basically just increasing the boost to 18psi(?). Do custom tuners really get a big performance jump beyond this? Also, I am looking for a tune with the controller where you can easily install or put back to stock condition when needed for emissions testing.
Appreciate any useful inputs the group might be able to offer....
