S-Class Pullman Spied: A Mercedes to Make Ned Flanders Nervous

Ned Flanders may get nervous at the remarkable length of this S-Class Pullman, but it's really Mercedes-Benz executives who need to get nervous. This thing's going to be a 21-foot flop.

At 1.6 million, it is gonna flop!

I'll take this for a cool $100k

The car isn't going to cost 1M.

Correct, it's going to be 1.6 million. Yes, crazy! Read the full article from the first post. Ouch.

The car above is not going to be a million dollars, the article is just mere speculation not official. Mercedes-Benz knows they can't charge that much for what is nothing more than a stretched S-Class.

Looks like a run of the mill O'Gara Hess limo/wedding/prom/airport service stretch.
Not impressed at all.....

An S Class limo version. Cheesy to me, but it's obviously to serve a purpose, not be a beauty queen. I don't think it does the regular S Class any favors, especially in cities where S Classes are most known as limo services already, though at least maintaining their proper proportions as having a "limo version" is kind of awkward for a line of cars. Now, the legendary Benz 600, that was a thoroughly revamped and redesigned car, i.e not just a stretched version of the "S Class" of the time. Thus, it was worth its price.

I don't get the Ned Flanders reference?

^^ Nonsense..as always.

Mercedes has been making Pullman's for decades. It's not a "cheesy" concept. Like it, don't like, I don't get how you put "limo version" in quotes as it's something that quotations are not be appropriate for.

I think you are blinded by your rather distaste for Mercedes in general. That's fine - but what I don't get is why you continue to put forth really silly arguments here. Is it mental masturbation or are you really very bored?

No nonsense about it. I think it's cheesy looking when there's a stretched limo version version of any car. Hummers in Vegas included. I actually thought that MB hasn't made a Pullman in some time. And at $1.6 million, if true, that's insane.

The newer ones are literally stretched versions of the original car. The 600 Grosser was a much different car from the standard fare "S" at the time, which is why I don't quite think the stretched S' belong in a lineage pic pic with it.

Edit: Maybe they technically can belong in a lineage pic with it, but I don't think they do it justice. It was a lot more than "just" a stretched model. The architecture even being more redesigned.

Limos are 3rd World/trailer park creatures

S65 sedans are merely essential, safe family cars for anyone who understands absurdly inept safety engineering of any SUV (incl any from MB/P)

Rich in US' 3rd World town of NYC have been driven ard in scuffed-up, normal, blk/blk S550s (w/inept, hired drivers at wheel) for decades

Most rich in BH/SV aren't into cars and can't drive but tend to want to appear younger&more in control (and are in a car-centric culture where having a driver is a sign of ineptitude, not wealth/status) and often drive self in own S Coupe (often lame 550s/63s, occasional 65s) or some MB/P SUV if truly can't drive

Marketers often have imaginary caricatures of what actual rich dudes in US want to drive (and are willing to pay for, no matter how wealthy)
