Door handle lights
I just noticed the doorhandle lights do not illuminate on the passenger side of the vehicle. Are they supposed to? I can’t say that I’ve noticed this before work as I usually enter on the driver side. This is a 2015 S 550. Your help will be appreciated.

Yes, they should light. The lights on your passenger handle are bad. Should be covered under your car warranty if you still have one.

Yes, it’s under CPO warranty, I’m not sure lights are covered. It strange that both passenger door handles and the passenger puddle light are out, The two door handle lights and puddle light on the passenger side is out and everything on the driver side is working.

Me too, 2016 S550 sport, front passenger door light out. I'm still in warranty shouldn't be an issue, but someone said in another thread it's not covered in CPO?? Hope it is for your sake, these dealers are insane on some work.

Sounds like a fuse or other part went out if 4 of them on that side stopped working. In that case, the chances of warranty coverage is more than if it is just the lights.

My dealer would not cover any lights under Dealer CPO. However they did cover under B2B. If I remember correctly, they covered Drivers Sill, both drivers Door Handle lights and Passenger Rear Door all under B2B, Lights all went out at different times. Front passender door went out 2,000 miles out of B2B, they would NOT cover under CPO. However, I strongly believe if you have a good relationship with the Dealer and you purchase from them often, they will make exceptions...

Apparently this is going to be an ongoing condition as we go out of warranty. I am not hearing there is a "new" revised led light, I am hearing they replace it with the same one that fails till your out of warranty. Can anyone with WIS post the procedure for replacing this light, as I can see it will be a DIY project in the future. I am going in for my first one and will inquire if they can do all 4. Thanks

It's strange that LED's are supposed to last for tens of thousands of hours but for some reason MB's last maybe a few hours (if you calculate actual power on time).

LEDs are supposed to be having more lifespans over halogens ,I don't see why they fail so quickly . I doubt your doors are nowhere near in a month is opened as what a New York Yellow Cab's doors open in a day
