Last chance to get a supercharged V8 Jaguar

The lower trim pieces rattle every time I close the door on my 2024 F-Pace SVR. They covered everything in alcantara except where passenger seat belt buckle slaps against the B-pillar. I have to bend my neck in a weird way to avoid whacking my head getting in and out. And none of that matters. I absolutely LOVE this car. I look for excuses to drive it. My Mercedes just doesn't do that for me.

They made a slight mistake though. In addition to getting rid of red badges and hub caps, the 2024 F-Pace also has a slightly upgraded infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto. My Z Flip 5 never has to come out of my front pocket.

Jaguar's brilliant EV-only business strategy for 2025 was just announced: sell only high price EVs (not the current way too cheap i-Pace) when the market is softening and even Tesla has to cut prices and come out with a sedan first and make everyone wait for the SUV because that worked out great for Lucid.

I'm so glad I got one of their last non-hybrid ICE vehicles because this brand may really be going the way of the dodo. I'm pretty sure I can keep my belt-driven supercharged V8 Jag running forever anyways. None of that 48V nonsense to worry about. And now that I found out about Velocity Automotive Performance I won't have to be jealous of those guys with a Lister Stealth

My ex Roommate bought a 2007 XKR convertible with Supercharged 4.2L V8. It finally died in early 2023 just as his BMW M850i Convertible arrived in VA. When he relocated from his Maryland Home to DC Navy Yards Condo he had to downsize...sold his 2019 XJ Collection that he adored. Much better than his 2004 XJR that lasted until 2015 and was sold to Carmax for $3K. His absolute worst Jaguar was a 2009 or 2010 XF Supercharged Sedan that he added a Minsa Exhaust to. His first Jag was a 1995 XJS Convertible with the inline-6. All of his Jags were pre owned except for his 2019 XJ Collection that had a Supercharged V8. That Collection was the last of the XJ's and was a slow seller...its MSRP was nearly $90K but he bought it for $68K and later sold for $66K.

Yeah it's night and day reliability-wise once you remove electrification from the equation. The I-Pace and 48V mild hybrid Jags I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole. Not only are they unreliable but JLR dealers really don't know how to service them. My 5.0L though is just soooo old school I honesty think I could do most, if not all, required maintenance and repairs myself.

Old school is good...lots of parts can be purchased from Rock Auto.com. After warranty is up find yourself a Certified Jaguar Indy Mechanic. Ex Roomie found one of Jamaican Descent working at the same BMW dealership he later ordered his 2023 M850i from. Mechanic worked on his Jags after hours in the Shop.

Happy Holidays: Christmas has come Early for the Nice

Enjoy that Supercharged Beast@Crito and glad uR satisfied!

I'm cash poor until 2026 when Son graduates Georgia Tech...I really want a Defender 90 V8 with Supercharged 5.0 put don't wanna trade in any of my Cars. Glad purchased all of my dream Firearms finally this past year. In New Mexico, enjoy shooting my .22 SIG P322 at the Range since its ammo is almost free. Will probably go glassing for Elk and Deer 2024 in the Gila and SE NM. Until 2026 will pay my Taxes, Eat well, and buy plenty of Premium Gasoline for what I already have in Retirement and visit Family and Friends between Florida and NYC!

Might find a CPO Defender 90 V8 in a few years and park it in DC Area with Daughter (MIT '21) and close to that Certified Mechanic?

The way Jags depreciate you're probably better off buying used anyways. I made the mistake of trying to go full EV with my EQE 500 SUV as my only vehicle and I've got important (money making) road tripping that needs to be done soon... so I justified the purchase in my own mind anyways (where I'm also a legend, lol).

It really is a lot of fun to drive though, to quote Miles, above ".. there's just no shortage of smiles per gallon. I killed half a tank yesterday with two hours of driving and I don't regret it a bit." Ditto!

I was wrong. There's a 2025 P575 FPACE SVR. I'm sticking with my 2024 P550 tho. A VelocityAP tune esentially makes it a P605 anyways. I've accidentally hit triple digits a couple time already. Still kind of a drag that I thought I bought the last one and it's now second to last. Oh well...

And what a monumental let down on the Lister Stealth 2. Old one had stealth front bumper cover, lister green grill and badge, green stiched lister seats, etc..

The rumors of Jaguar's demise have been greatly exagerated. Straight from the horse's... er, um, leaping leopard's mouth:

Jaguar production at our Castle Bromwich site (XE, XF and F-TYPE) will come to an end in June 2024, followed by our Graz site (E-PACE and I-PACE) in December 2024.

We have yet to announce an end date for F-PACE production at Solihull.

We have curated a range of exclusive specifications reflecting the richest options and engine mix of our XE, XF and F-TYPE models. Clients can find these curated specifications and pricing on our website and can purchase through our retail network. E-PACE, F-PACE and I-PACE are still available to build on the configurator.

Jaguar will be radically reimagined as an all-electric luxury brand by 2025. The first of three new Jaguars is a 4-door GT with a range of up to c. 435 miles, built in Solihull.

Priced from £100k, it will go on sale 2024 with new Jaguars on the road in 2025.
