Rear axes ratio change
Ii have been offered to change the rear axes ratio for my C32 from 3.06 (standard) to 3.27 and make some adaptions in the computer (tranny).
The company says it will bring increased acceleration and will not harm ESP or any other safety stuff.
Anybody has experience with this or can advice me.

I haven't had any experience, but I can tell you that changing the gear ratio is one of the easiest ways to gain a couple of tenths (may be 3 tenths) on the quarter mile, computer adjustment is only to adjust your speedometer so it reads correctly.

Well, actually the tranny computer adjustment is necessary to make sure the car does not go into "limp mode" after the rear ratio change. If you only change the rear ratio w/o tranny computer reprograming, the car will think that either your torque converter is slipping and/or other tranny problem and trigger the "limp mode"
The speedometer is driven by input from the front tire so has nothing to do with the rear ratio change.

price
The want 2900 euro for the change of the rear axis and 3100 euro for a mechanical "sperdifferential". I really dont know what a sperdifferential is but they told me that it would help a lot during the acceleration.

Limitied slip
Basically it is a limited slip diff option. The stock rear diff is just an open diff (non limited slip) in which the ESP/traction control is used (by using the rear brake to control differential slip between rear tires.
LSD will give you a more controllable power application especially during cornering.

I wonder if you are talking about the company Bergwerks. If not, check out WWW.Bergwerks.com. bt performing a rear differential adjustment, you will gain in 0-60 time but loose some in top speed. But if you are not planning on driving at 150mph then it should not matter much. Another issue is that your car will rev a bit higher and may result in slightly less engine life(?) But the main problem is that yes, you need a transmission control module to tell your vehicle electronics what is going on. This is the bottleneck and I am not sure this problem has been completely solved. I have had several conversations with the folks at BERWERKS. They yet to come up with a working transmission control module. Interestingly, the Kleemmann E55 that won the world speed record had a rear differential adjustment the other way............they lost in 0-60 time but improved in top speed by allowing the car to rev lower while attaining higher speeds. I don't know what Kleemann did about the transmission control module.

![Confused](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
We know with the S/C, the power is a devil, and I love it,too.
you and my members here mentioned one thing
The rpm goes very fast, make the transmission "halt" a while
when hit the redline, then wakeup and upshift.
Happen to benchmark it with AMG speedshift, the AMG works fine
I'm also wondering if this is an upgradeable s/w for transmission ?
Can Kleemann solve this issue in case of full throttle accel. ?
