Feedback on Pulley Kit for W210

I was wondering if anyone could give me some feedback on the Evosport Under Drive Pulley Kit for the W210. I am seriously thinking about getting it for my '00 E55. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with it, and if there is any down side to putting it on the E55? What I am concerned with is just how much it will change the overall drive of the car? I previously had done a pulley kit on my 350Z and loved the performance that it gives on acceleration! Any input would be greatly appreciated.

The underdrive pulleys for your car are a no-brainer. There is no risk using them as they do not touch the crank (unlike your 350z pulleys). In contrast to the 350z, what you will feel is more low-end power, not faster reving as again, the crank is not touched.

Easiest/cheapest 13hp at the wheels you can buy.

Thanks for the input. Do you happen to know around how much $$ it is for the labor to install the pulleys?

I had mine done for $150 one of the pullies was very hard to remove. I didn't notice much of a gain but there was a tiny bit at the top.

The majority of the gain is down low, where hp is robbed from the motor in order to spin the accessory pulleys. First 3 gears you will see about 13hp at the wheels. Install varies, depending on where you go. If they have a pulley puller - that will fit the power sterring pump - it's not a difficult job.

So you're claiming 13hp to the wheels in 3rd gear?

I'm not claiming anything. I do not work for evosport. All I am saying is that they DO (and several dyno's posted on this site support it) provide those gains.

It seems like you just contradicted yourself. I thought you did work for evosport

I didn't see anything about him working for EvoSport. I just picked up a set of those pulleys myself. It was my understanding that they didn't increase horsepower but simple gave you more usable horsepower.

So whats the deal with this. Is it worth it to do this mod or not? I obviously know that in order to see big gains in horsepower in a car especially when it is NA you have to spend big bucks. I am just looking for the best bang for the buck. I will be happy if this mod gives me 8-10 hp at the wheels. The only mods that I have in mind to do right now are the Evosport pulley kit and the drop-in K&N filters.

05 ML-500 , 03 CLK5.5 AMG has left the Garage
underdrive pulleys

Did it on my 03 CLK5.5 AMG. I also did a small write up on amgpower.com Forums. CLK author PTE , Puller kit part numbers & prices. Nice Bottom & mid range gain. but only 2-3 hp on top. I did do a dyno , before & after.

Read away Thanks PTE

Broker1,

The pulleys are definitely worth it. Is the power change mind-numbingly different? No, but HP / $, they are the best bang for the buck available and about as non-invasive as mods get.

I would like to thank everyone for the feedback. I am going to order the pulley kit next week. All I need now is to find a good shop ( S. FL ) to do the install.

Searching for threads on Pulleys and came across this one. Any updates? Did you get the pulley installed? Notice a difference?

It is a very small upgrade for power but it is cheap. I would say save your money. You would get more out of having lighter wheels and even more if you lightened your brakes. Also gears are a great option.
