Aftermarket sway bars.

Has anyone installed aftermarket sway bars on their car and if so, does it really do anything for body roll?

I installed sway bars on my CLK43K. They make a substantial difference. I have VERY little body roll, if any.

When you corner at limit, does the car give some warning by lightly sliding or, with the sway bars, does it just completly give up and spin. I know tires and, to some degree, braking play a role. I just wanted to know if the sway bars have a "price" for the improved handling. Thanks.

The car is still communicative and predictable. The swaybars increase the car's limits by making it more stable.

Thanks Ben.

Where can I purchase sway bars and are they difficult to install. Can a reasonably good Mb mechanic install them. How much does it cost to purchase and install?

Give me a call/email tomorrow. I can get you the sway bars, as well as provide you with instructions for installation. The front is pretty straight-forward, the rear requires a little courage.

Thanks

Ben

And of course AMG, but they are the same diameter, so why spend the extra money?

Howard, Just about all Mercedes tuners have aftermarket sway bars:

AMG
Brabus
Carlsson
Lorinser
Renntech
