someone told me fiberglass. i'm wondering if it's strong and if it's worth it to get it, if it's gonna crack. can someone tell me as much as they can about these bodykits?

Last time i checked Carlsson used fiberglass for thier kits. I have never had a carlsson kit or any other FB kit so im not sure, But a friend of mine had a carlsson kit on his W202 and easily cracked it on a parking block, he later switched it to the AMG C36 kit, which never cracked.

Well brabus is made from Polyurethane and the are reasonably priced after discount so why not.. Im just really surprised that Lorinser is made from kevlar reinfoced fiberglass and costs a lot more than brabus.

Would appreciate if you could verify:

(1) Fiberglass = not so good, breaks easily (Carlsson)
(2) kevlar reinfoced fiberglass = quite good, but should not cost more than Polyurethane (Loriser)
(3) Polyurethane = The Best. (Brabus)

Is this correst ??

What material is your freind's C36 made of ??
Any way to tell just by looking at the kit which "stuffs" they are made from ??

Thanks a lot

I have a Carlson RS kit...it is kevlar reinforced fibreglass...you do have to treat it carefully..it will crack if you bang it around.

Isn't ABS plastic the best (rieger)?

I've never heard of ABS plastic, what does ABS stand for? I think Kevlar/Fglass is really stiff right? And PU is more flexable, Once i had this obstruction behind my SLK (amg package) and i tried to manuver to get out of myparking spot, i went too far foreward and my bumper passed the parking block but when i reversed it pulled a little chunk off, i had no idea till i filled up the gas that afternoon. I was so pissed off, but i think if the kit was made from fiberglass it would probably have made a nice crack, or quite possibly come off entirely.
