CLK and Just Bought a SL500
Help get my ponies on my SL500 as high as possible.
I want to add as many horsies to my 03 SL500 as possible and under the cost of buying a SL55 or 600. I would have bought a 55 or 600 but couldnt find one in the perfect condition and from my local dealer. So I would like to keep it under 4-5k. what is the difference between the renntech and powerchip besides price? Also what could I do to get my ponnies up for under 5 to 7k tops. want it to be as close to 4 sec car. But I also want to keep the car in reliable condition without killing my warranty. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
I just ordered 19's with pilot PS2's for it. 255/35 and 275/30 tried to get the 285 but they would have taken 1 month+ because they were on back order.

thanks rod. I would have bought A SL600 but could not find one in good condition and color I wanted. I will just do the tune and maybe exhaust, dont know what a sprinter is? Then probably keep the SL as my crusier and get a CL65 or 600 as my kick *** ride.

I haven't tried it myself, but most people are quite pleased with the sprint booster, especially on cars will larger engines that have the potential, but just not the throttle response as set by the factory. See this thread for more information: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w203/141349-sprint-booster-car-behaving-like-monster-hungry-speed.html
Powerchip vs. Renntech.... I'm pretty sure powerchip is way cheaper, they post the gains for the selected car on thier website- but they are advertising around 15-20 numbers of improvement in both torque and hp. A poster on the CLS AMG forum had good results: https://mbworld.org/forums/c219/185187-ok-i-know-everyone-has-been-waiting.html
Also, evosport underdrive pullies are very popular around here, freeing up more HP to the wheels- maybe 8-10 rwhp. www.evosport.com
good luck

I did look up the sprinter and just ordered it. looked into the pullies also and just got off the evo site. so I will do the powerchip and sprinter for now. not sure about the pullies yet? I have a 3yr warranty and dont know if I want to risk it. thanks for all the info. I will post some pics once I get it done. right now im still stock, but I picked it up last friday.

You may want to hold off on the sprint booster as Powerchip's tune improves your throttle response..

why does that always happen? I always jump the gun and buy everything and end up with leftovers. jk. I will get the chip first and then see if I need the booster. do you know anyone else that uses both?

Lol.. I say do what you mentioned. Get the software first and see if it's enough throttle response. Then, if you're looking for more, grab the Sprint Booster..

If you're a psycho like me, you can do filters, exhaust, ECU, and nitrous oxide all for under $4000 and your car will be pretty damn fast. We have the same engine so I know that if you go with all the above it'll be pretty damn quick. Of course, most people are afraid of NOS, but if you dont care then go for it.
