Hi all, I like to know what suspension mods you guys recommend for my '98 C43 AMG. I am planning on the H&R Sport springs, what do you recommed for the shocks? I have heard the AMG Euro Bilstein shocks, and KONI adjustable... not sure what all is out there, any adjustable coilover setups? How about sway bars? the car feel a little too soft for me, coming from a '95 and '02 M3, this ting rides like a boat also who makes strut tower braces to stiffen up the chassis?

Ok, now on the performance side, what performance parts are out there? exhaust systems? intake? chip? I am also looking at a set of 19" wheels, what's the largest 19" application I can go with? I have heard 19x8.5 w/ 235/35/19 and 19x9.5 w/ 265/30/19, can anyone confirm?

Again, the C43 is new to me, but I can't wait to start modifying it! please feel free to email me at geoffm3@hotmail.com for all the great info, thanks!!

Thanks, more questions for you :)
Do you know a good discount source to get factory Mercedes parts? and also do you know the part number for the spring pads, i like to get them so I can fine tune the ride height, thanks.

sorry, haven't really shopped around for mb parts. c36 is my mom's, it's bone stock, good enough for parents. if u were to ask me about volvos, i could direct u to a ton of sites

actually, u might wanna try a few of the online sources.
http://www.mercedespartsonline.com/
http://www.oem-car-parts.com/
etc.

u could always try out the tuners, like brabus, renntech, kleemann, lorinser. claus ettensberger corp (cec, in la) also imports a few of the brands for mb. http://www.cecwheels.com/
stillen seems to be focusing on the clk and m class. saw their clk first hand, had monster ap racing 6-pot calipers front and 4-pot calipers rear; crazy power.

I put H&R springs and Bilstien short shocks on my C36. The ride was good. I liked it. After I lowered it I could not fit anything bigger then 255 35 18 in the back without rolling the fenders. I had 235 40 18 in the front and that was ok. I wouldnt try anything bigger. The 265 rubbed a lot. As for intake, I tried a really large K&N but it seems to make the car slower. The heat is too great in the engine. I've seen cold air intake where they drop the filter down and remove 1 of the foglights. Some guy with another C36 did that. Also for track use I had 2 test pipes made where the cats are. That helped out A LOT. I saw the biggest difference with that. I heard there are a lot of chip tuners out there. I never got around to getting one. I thought it might mess up car. There are superchargers for your car available which help a lot. Well I hope any of my info helped. Feel free to e-mail me.

Have you ever timed your C43? The fastest time I got on our C43 is 13.70 @ 107.8 mph. The C36 was 13.92 @ 103.9 MPH.
