so... are you saying that with the new ECU upgrade, under certain environmental conditions that your car will underperform a stock car of the same caliber?
Hmmm.....I never thought of it before but I guess the E55 using 91 on a 100 degree day "might" underperform if you don't back out of the throttle when it starts missing at 5400 to let it upshift. Honestly, I drive the car HARD and almost never notice the problem. Then again, it rarely gets over 90 where I live.
Well I guess I live right around you to, well I pass Almaden/Foxworty every morning and afternoon, I've seen couple Silver E55's around there and on Branham you must've been it, one is stock the other is Lowered, one of them might be you, I'll try to catch up next time if I see you. LOL...
That might be a problem in Texas

The best advice I can givce you is to call them. They were very responsive to my questions and offered to give me my money back if I wasn't satisfied. I'm not sure what octane is available in TX. If it is only 91, start with the 91+ programming. If it doesn't perform well, send it back for the 91. That's what I planned to do but got lazy and kept the higher rating. Also, I don't drive the car that often. It only has 30,000 miles on the clock and half of those were in the first year!

This is my day so far.
09h30 I recieved a call from DHL saying they have a delivery for me and they will be droppoing it off this afternoon.
10h15 I arrived at DHL headoffice - like I could wait.
10h30 Back home ECU with Powerchip inside installed.
10h35 turn key and pray for spark - vrooooooooom
11h00 off to garage driving very conservativley as my is filled with 95 ron not 98 as the chip requires.
11h30 empty 95 and refill with 98.
And just as i'm about to see what Powerchip have done the sky opens up and starts pissing down like a perfect winters day in Cape Town.
Traffic comes to a hault and there I sit - home time. And then it clears.
Vroooooom Vroooooooom
I hit th freeway 0-100km/h what a differance, well maybe its more the 40-80 that one really fells it. Roads still a bit wet.
100-200 "get out of my way" I want to see what happens in 5th. No luck. To much traffic. I've only done about 60km with 98 and it feels like its pulling more every km.
All through the gears theres more power you can feel and hear it. I will have to put in harder springs - Weitec been recomended. I'm not sure how much fuel I'm going through, give me a week and I'll get back to you. They said 10-11% more power and I think there right from the feel of things.
Will be putting it on the dyno as soon as I can. Next week sometime, and i'll find out what's really going on.
But so far its wonderfull.

OutOfAfrica, congratulations, what do you drive?
either way, i am convinced & thoroughly impressed with the powerchip performance based on customer testimonials..
He's got a C230K Coupe... maybe its because he has a S/C that the ECU helps out even more...

First day:
They will unsolder the chip, download the code from the chip, email the code to Europe for fine-tuning, solider the chip back and let you go home.
Second visit:
Unsolder the old chip, put in the new fine-tuned chip, test and done!
I will do it in October after come back from vacation
